Once you learn how to get around the track. You keep doing it over and over and over and over and over again until you get your lap times fast. The passing will come with time. Each track is difference for passing zones, the more you run the track the bigger it will feel to you, the more space you will feel like you have to work around cars. Ps racing line helps with knowing where to break. It will take a few weeks but take the racing line off and use the 50/100/150 boards, pylons and rumble strips to judge where to brake.

I noticed your force feed back is almost always maxed out. You need to adjust that. An easy way to fix is to bring up your black box and scroll to I think its in car settings. At the bottom you'll see a number followed by nm. After you drive a lap or so a clickable button will appear that will say auto. Click this and it will automatically set the correct FFB. You'll need to do this for each car. It seems you'll just be with the mx5 for now so don't worry about doing it more than the one time.

Hi,new her but anyway there are many things you could work on. A simple way to improve is to "drumroll please" drive. Test, drive, and test even more. coming from your first video, there is a huge leap of improvement. Just dont force yourself as in at this stage of your career. You need to figure your limit on what you're comfortable with. Racing lines are also really important. There are loads of videos to help out with this! Furthermore, focus on your own driving it was your first time racing, and you focused so much on the other drivers that you forgot your own car's placement, resulting in a couple of tracks. No big deal. it's a learning stage. Next time you race, you first focus on getting round the track with you own comfortable speed and see if you can keep up and look at what the AI is doing different from you and work from there. This is btw. Just my opinion feel free to roast me😁✌️ Anyway, I loved the video, cheers!

You did well on entry into t1, but you shouldn't hold the inside through the entire corner, instead try to double apex it taking a wide line by hitting the first kerb and then hitting the last kerb without being so close to the white line which should allow you to use more speed.

  • @Costray-Arts

I lowkey wanna coach you hahaha, but some quick tips, turn in more--if the tires starts screeching alot or if you feel the force feedback go light you should reduce the steering angle. Try to get as close to the raised kerbs like those red kerbs going uphill as possible without touching them, lift of the throttle when shifting too and turn on force feedback if you have any too

Well… at least you’re getting laps on the board! To overtake, think of it like this, all you need to do is, be along side the car you want to overtake in the braking zone of the corner, on the inside line. So long as you are at least side by side, on the inside, you have the chance to complete the pass, as you’ll be putting them on the outside in the turn, less grip out there, dirty track… OR when on the inside during braking zone, you brake a tiny bit later than them, a tiny bit harder (because later) and complete the pass before the corner. During a race, best practice is to have your “F3 black box” on. This box has the live gap to cars in front and behind.

Congrats on all the progress, I'd say next thing you need to work on it car placement. Something to remember is when turning in a circle the bigger the circle the faster you can go, so when you enter and exit a corner in the middle of the track you're making the circle smaller so you can't take it as fast, work on putting the car all the way outside, getting the car to the apex then letting the car go all the way out to the curbs, don't be afraid to use them. I haven't raced the track myself but from the looks of it on the final corner if you really get all the way to the left, get the car to the apex then let it drift all the way to the edge of the track on exit you might be able to take it flat, at the very least with a little lift off

Forget everything about racing lines for a moment. All that comes with time and experience. Here is one thing I noticed. Smashing and dumping of the brake and the throttle. These two things will give you nightmares lol. When you are braking you are frequently going from 100% straight 0%. This will always induce understeer. The reason behind that is because when you are braking you are shifting the weight of the car onto the nose and lifting the weight off of the rear. This induces what we call oversteer, this is the key ingredient to faster laps. But with what you were doing is the opposite. Now as you brake into a turn slowly start to let off the brake while you are also turning into it. This is what we call trail breaking. What this does is it keeps the weight of the car on the nose giving you a lot more grip on the front tires. This is where the saying comes from, “steer with your feet not your hands.” If you are noticing understeer occurring, either lightly apply a little bit of brake to help get that weight back in the nose while turning into a corner and give a slight lift of the throttle to slow down the weight transferring to the rear on the exit of a corner if it starts to understeer. The key here is to start to only apply the throttle once the car is pointing in the direction you need it to go to make the rest of the corner. So focus on slowly eezing off of the brake turning in, and slowly eezing into the throttle as you’re exiting. Good to see you learning and making progress m8. Looking forward to more.

It's nice for me to see you stopped using the visual aid racing line. Sure it's a hassle having to relearn and developing the feel for a racing line, but don't give up, you WILL get there! It's not rocket science. It really isn't something that needs to be verbalized either. It's pure feel and experience. Seat time WILL get you there eventually :) Also I am highly positive of you increasing the degrees of rotation in your wheel. In my humble opinion, the best thing would be to have true to car degrees of rotation where-ever possible. Don't let the haters get into your head! I enjoyed you exposing one of them and pointing out how that comment is not helpful (you were really nice about it, to me the comment looked like pure toxicity, so respect to how you handled it!) - toxicity in general is not helpful for anyone. During my journey of learning to drive and race (i went into simracing before I even started acquiring my drivers license) I've watched loads of videos and read loads of stuff online aswell. On KZread, Driver61 had some real influence (especiall their playlist called "Everything You Need to be Faster on Track - The Driver's University" - it really has a great order, regarding relevance and proficience). Later on in my journey Dave Cam had some good tips and eventually Suellio Almeida. Going back to that Driver61 playlist - in one of your most recent videos I and others aswell hinted you towards understeering. That might be an issue somewhere more down the line resulted by something more fundamental. I really propose you check out that playlist, watch one video and take your time to ingest the information and practice that specific thing afterwards. Just the way it seems you did in this video regarding understeering. Don't overload yourself with information. take one step at a time, build good fundamentals (it's easier to learn new, good habits than to unlearn bad habits). This comment already feels like I've written half an essay :D Happy racing and learning! :) Hope ER was nothing too serious and you are back to being well :)

as soon as youre removing the racing line , you forget how to stay on the so called racing line. so you're basically cutting the corner again and forgetting to stay out wide, use the width of the track to let you turn easier, stay wide to probably the 100m board then at the 50 let off the brake and turn. just remember to use a flowing motion which will allow for weight distribution and you can corner better from it.

Nice video. Definitely try to start the corner as far left as possible and turn in later. At the angle that you're taking it now you have to slow down to mutch. And for the second part of the cornor, if you see that you start to understeer and are not gonna make it, just let off the throttle. This will shift the weight more to the front tires and give you more grip. As soon as you see you can make the cornor, go on the throttle again.

I am really stoked to see further development in your driving! Wishing you lots of fun on your journey. :) For me it sure was and still is! Colored Ideal Line Not a fan. You mentioned you're gonna turn it of and I fully support this decision. I really think one should not get reliant on the displayed racing line, since it wont be of use in real racing or even rain, when lines change dramatically. It will aid your ability to intuitively find alternate lines when needed. also it will just increase the need for feeling the track, corner, speed (which is hard when being robbed of some senses) but works after some time - atleast for me Understeer There were a couple moments/situations, where you just kept on adding steering angle when you were already understeering (car pushing the fronts). This does not help - when you realize turning the steering more doesnt turn the car more, release some steering angle and give it some brake, like 5% - it will shift the weight of the car towards the fronts, increasing grip and help you with rotation 1:45 just about what you added as brake pressure here - when "that ass swings out there" looks like proper rotation in general. it was just too much rotation for that particular situation which was why you bailed out of it rightly so. Turning in general is done with pedals as well as the steering, steering lets you dictate weight left to right, pedals let you dictate weight to fronts or backs. be smooth with it. mass is sluggish, in some cars more, in some less. What helped me - and still is helping me - is increasing my technical understanding of involved processes. it is easier for me to apply things, if I understand why I have to do so or why it works better than something else

Watch the brake pressure on the left by the gear, fully brake then slowly come off, you started slowing down with like 40% brake pressure. You're right about not needing to downshift in corners, in the MX5 especially, unless it's a hard hairpin you rarely need to shift into 1st. It's a very short gear so when you're downshifting into it the engine speed is far lower than the gearing wants the engine speed to be, so it slows down the rear wheels very quickly as it speeds up the engine, I hope that makes sense? 2:30

Also I've found try breaking in a straight line so you're not breaking on/in the corner which then throws the car off balance.
