Wow Mark you did it you rebel, you actually got to test it properly without getting kicked off. Good explanation showing us the Curfboard setup utilizing the Curfboard blades and trucks together. I agree with the single edge of the Curfboard compared to the dual edges of Hockey skates, you explain the two different types of edges and how they perform on the surfskate. And thanks for giving a comparison test between your three different surfskate setups of riding on ice...GREAT JOB! Can't wait to get mine!

Sydney Australia winter does not go below 15’C Celsius on average. No icy lakes, etc. Public Ice rinks around here would definitely ban them.

Maybe min temp might go to 8-9’C Celsius at night. Maybe 6 near the mountains. Blue mountains may go below 1 or 2, odd occasions below 0.

What blades has the best glide (not grip) if you compare your blades with the Curf-blades?

I've only tried these and blades from a company called Benmore blades in Canada, those are more like a hockey skate blade and I found they didnt glide all that well. There is another company that makes blades that look good from a company called ice blade boards or something like that, but I haven't tested theirs.

just out of curiosity: what's the reason for getting kicked out of the ice rink? are the blades too aggressive for the ice?

Technical rule was that you must be wearing skates to be on the ice surface

are these blades only compatible with curfboard or could i put them on a different board? i have a yow surf skateboard and i don’t want to have to buy a curfboard alongside the blades themselves

They could go on any set of trucks. They work for pumping on YOW trucks but it is a lot more work because of the spring resistance. The other thing to consider is that YOW Meraki has bearings that could be damaged using it in snowy and wet conditions, so you might find your trucks a bit creaky once it is time to switch back to summer.

@@MarktheLandlockedSurfer Ah, I see. Didn't know they make something like this. I live in warm and sunny Luxembourg. Kidding - a lot of the time it's drizzling in here, but we only see snow once or twice a year.
