Surf Ninjas - Everything You Didn’t Know | SYFY WIRE
Ойын-сауық
When it comes to martial arts movies, it can be tough to blend fighting with comedy. Jackie Chan is considered a master at this. But other martial arts stars of the 70s, 80s and 90s aren’t primarily known for their humor. We’re talking about Bruce Lee, Jean Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal and others. At the same time, the 80s demonstrated an appetite for the martial arts centered, family friendly film (see Karate Kid). So in 1993, we were BLESSED with the amazingly titled “Surf Ninjas”, starring Ernie Reyes Jr. Get your surf wax…

I have no shame in saying I own this on DVD. I loved Surf Ninjas as a kid so much, and as an adult it brings nostalgia and hilarity (like the Street Fighter movie).

- Zatch: Something not even money can buy: the knives of Kwantsu. - Iggy: Knives? Oh yeah, seriously. That's something money can't buy. Knives. Once I went to a cutlery store and said "Here's $100,000, can I buy a knife?". They said, "No. Money can't buy knives". Gee, I guess that's why you hardly ever see any of 'em around.

It's in DVD?! Hailz yeah!
This movie is part of my childhood and brings back some awesome memories indeed ☺ Being born in 86 the 90's was a excellent time to grow up 👍 Sadly after this movie Ernie Reyes Jr. never got more bigger roles in movies till the Rundown with the Rock 😡 He should have been a martial arts action star during the 90's & early 00's while he was in his ultimate prime. I'm surprised he wasn't cast in the original Power Rangers, Xena, Hercules etc. That's just my opinion 👍 Greetings and one love from the Caribbean ✌😀

This is hands down one of my favorite movies of all time. I would watch it every week with my friends when they would spend the night. I still have the VHS.
I use to watch this movie every time it came in cable whether it was Cinemax or Showtime. I loved the fight scenes cause Ernie Reyes Jr is a powerhouse when it comes to martial arts, it’s a shame he wasn’t in more action films cause he had the skills. With that said, Surf Ninjas is just a cool 90s film that you don’t take seriously, just enjoy the fun atmosphere
Favorite scene still is when Rob Snyder is talking to Zatch about using the patch to quit smoking and Rob breaks the 4th wall and says to the audience "Look who I'm talking too"
This was my favorite movie when I was a kid for sure. Tied with 3 Ninjas, and TMNT. Love the EYDK series, keep 'em coming
Brooo I watched this movie hunders of times still watch it till this day born in 1996
Surf Ninjas is seriously one of my favorite comedies ever.... also omfg WMAC Masters needs to be brought back in a reboot...loved that show back in the day
WMAC Masters next, please...and you best be mentioning my boy Tsunami!

Surf ninjas is one of my favorite movies of all time idc what anyone thinks
“Chicks got a veil, dude better bail”
Loved surf ninjas when I was a kid and I still find it funny and enjoyable to watch now
I saw this movie in the theater, I was small and into the ninja craze
One of my all time favorites.
Oh my God I am not alone someone actually remembers the wmac Masters tsunami cyborg an Olympus were some of my favorites and red dragon
Dude I freaking love you!!! Pulling out all my childhood favorites
And Tone Loc!!!! I loved this movie.
“If you ran like a mother and get winky the one eye black belt” Love that line 🤣
Ernie Reyes Jr. is part 80's of our nostalgia when us kids during that time growing up.. TMNT secret of the ooze, Side kicks, surf ninjas, etc.. We all wanted to be like him with his martial arts prowess..
90s family comedies I will never get tired of watching those kinda movies!

Word up. I got my kids hooked on 3 ninjas.
That movie was absolutely amazing as a kid. The part where he sings the "Barbaran" I played over and over again lol
Bruh, I love surf ninjas. This is always a flashback to better times with me and my cousins. This and 3 ninjas! Man I loved those movies.
I was literally just trying to find this movie online. Rented it when I was 4, then saw this on my suggestion videos. Awesomeness
Surf Ninjas was fantastic! I loved it with TMNT in the 1990s.
I was going to watch this movie, but I couldn't open the box. I didn't have anything to open the box with because money... can't buy knives.

Dude I thought I was the only one that remembered WMAC masters! Great Wolf and The machine inspired me to do Martial Arts
Its a really cool kids/pre-teen aged movie. Definitely brings me back to when I was little watching it, and I think that's the best compliment we could give it. It's not a great nuanced story with lots of incredible martial arts scenes, but its not trying to be. It's meant to be fun, and never takes itself too seriously (cue Leslie Nielsen as General Chi, LOL). I bet little kids today would still enjoy this early 90's ninja classic :)
YESSSSSSSS!!!! Still one of my favorite movies.
I wore out the tape on my surf ninjas vhs when I was a kid. I know it's corny, but I loved it. I loved surfing, and I loved ninjas. It was perfect.
Can we get one of those Zoom reunions for this movie? Such a classic!

Yo I swear we share the same childhood; just decided to watch this movie out the blue last month, every thing you post is just so NOSTALGIC!!!!!! #80’sbaby
Surf Ninjas is severely underrated. It was a great comedy action adventure.
This whole era of ninja based movie was my whole childhood,3 ninjas for some reason used to depress me when the grandpa got beat up
Rob Schneider was brilliant in this role, and the writers really capitalized on his ability. I still quote this movie with my brother for fun and no one gets any of the references.
Please do WMAC Masters, Hakeem "The Machine" Alston was my favorite. Back on subject, this is one of my favorite movies growing up, and I still love it to this day. Also Ernie Reyes Jr has a small role in Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon another one of my favorites growing up. While he got to fight The Rock in The Rundown, Kelly Hu got to kiss him in The Scorpion King. I'd take Surf Ninjas over all the Three Ninjas movies put together.
Damn,, THAT was a nostalgic trip down "memory lane"! I was about 14 when this movie came out. I can't believe this guy referred to himself as "old".... I was born in the late 70's, and I'M not... Well I'm only... DAMNIT NOW I FEEL OLD!!!! (THANKS A LOT!!) lol
Loved this movie and no one i talk to ever remembers it
Love this movie! Just had my 11 year old daughter watch it a couple weeks ago! She loved it too!

New lime cinema always made great movies. When u saw that new lime logo in the vhs days u know u were in for a good one
Dude I was obsessed with wmac masters
we NEED an episode about WMAC Masters!!!
Classic!!!
I've been waiting for the analysis of this movie since the late 90's... Thank you sooo much.
This will always be one of my favorite movies!!! I still quote this move to this day.
Man this movie was really underrated I loved it back in the day
I also remember that wmac masters ninja challenge I never thought it was real but I like to hear more about it I have y'all ever choose to make a video about it
Holy crap, I thought I was the only one who remembered WMAC Masters Ninja Challenge. Wake up to watch it then go play ninjas with your friends all day long. Loved the 90s.
What I remember is that money can't buy knives.
This has been a CLASSIC of my best friends and I since we were freshmen in college. So many good memories!!
Honestly can’t believe anyone else besides me saw this.
This movie is such a fun watch! Also, I made sure I was up early to watch ninja masters every Saturday morning. I really didn't think anyone else remembered that it existed! Thanks for making this!
I worked the video rental counter at the grocery store that I worked at in the 90s and got to pick which movie played in the tv/VCR combo setup to get customers attention I could not wait until this one came out on tape so I could watch it at work loved that job as a kid
I used to love this movie!! This and 3 Ninjas!
I cant believe you made this video. I loved this movie as a young kid. this, 3 ninjas and power rangers. oh and the 3 turtle live action movies
I loved this movie growing up!!! It was a jewel of the 90s lol a real blessing indeed lol
Loved this film!
One of my top favorite martial art movies
Surf Ninjas is a great piece of 90's nostalgia and definitely doesn't get made anymore. 3 Ninjas was another one of my favorites from the decade. It would be cool if EYDK did one on the franchise or at least the original film at some point. Great job Juan on the video.
Dude I love your videos cuz you take me back to my childhood
I loved surf ninjas. Watched it over a hundred times!
Anyone notice how The Machine from WMAC was the first guy LiuKang fought in MK movie?
One of my favorite movie when I was a kid.
Surf Ninjas was awesome lol. Loved it as a kid
dude I loved this movie. I can understand why people hate it, but this a great movie compared to movies nowadays. plus I just have a lot of nostalgia for this movie. again, love this movie then and now
I've watched this movie billions of times, still watch it regularly to this day. I wish they would come out with a blu-ray release. We even named our Animal Crossing island Patusan. Also yes, I do remember watching WMAC Masters, I talk about it all the time. Superstar Ho Sung Pak was Liu Kang from the original Mortal Kombat game. 3 Ninja's Kick Back, the one where they go to Japan was also on regular rotation for me. Kick Back had music from Seo Taiji and Boys, the group that started K-Pop/Hip Hop back in the 90's.
Dude! It has been years since I watched this on VHS from Blockbuster. You got me wanting to watch it again.
Best movie ever !!!
Ok, I've been watching these videos the last month and this one is where you got my subscription. 😂😂😂

Awesome movie. Had it on tape when my boys were young and must have watched it 100 times. A classic to us!
I have this movie on dvd with little giants. This was a great video brought me back to time of simple pleasures.
The Forbidden Kingdom kinda feels like the long lost cousin of this movie, and might be one of the few examples of the type of family movie you were talking about.
I love this movie. It was a buttload of fun and still is.
I own this on VHS. When I was a kid, I checked it out at the library and had to have it.
This film still showcases the best front flip ever filmed, still to to this day. When Zatch flips off the pier..absolutely perfectly flawless flip

Nice thanks for this video. People never talk about this movie, I remember my day care had a copy when I was a kid and it was our favorite
One of my favorite childhood movies!
best movie of all time
Loved Surf Ninjas as a kid and yes I remember that ninja tv show.
I got surf Ninja DVD and I used to have it on VCR to surf Ninja
This was one of my favorites
Ernie Reyes Jr. was in so many great flicks.
OK since you mentioned 3 ninjas there needs to be an episode about it. Also the movie that could be considered a ripoff of it Pocket ninjas
