Surf Fishing Mission Beach! A Guide to San Diego's Mission Beach
In this video, I’ll walk you through a day of surf fishing at mission beach. This is one of the many videos I’ve done on the San Diego beaches series for Surf Fishing In So Cal.
In this video, I catch Corbina, croaker, stingray and guitarfish, although many more species can be caught.

Good action for an evening session. Seaweed and vegetation shuts down that beach often.

I’ll keep ‘em coming. Peruse through the channel and you should find a lot of good ones. Highly recommend the “reading the surf” vid I did.
Hey! first, congratulations for the great job you're doing with your videos and website. I live in Ventura, and I started with surf fishing 3 months ago, and I use to go to the beach at least once a week. The point is that I may be doing something wrong because I've only got 3 fishes (2 hali and 1 perch) during this time! I'm starting to get disappointed. I'll keep watching your information.

I noticed the Rod is 8 feet long. Does it have to be that long length for surf fishing?

8’6” anything between 7-9 feet will work. I like 8’6”

Right?!!! It can be frustrating as they have “the whole beach to work with” they likely think the same about us but we know more lol.

Indeed! These days I usually start my sessions at 7pm for that very reason. I mostly fish TP and Del Mar and the holes are always filled with swimmers and surfer-wannabes, who would swim right in front of me and sees nothing wrong

Its actually quite productive. Despite the crowds and seaweed… it’s a legit zone for the sand crab game
