Ronald Reagan campaigned for president. He was positive and liked that. During the time he was elected, the United States supported anyone who would fight communism. They weren't always nice guys. Communism eventually fails apart in most places around the Earth. Putin ex-KGB, and he's a tricky liar. The world watched Putin's brutal invasion of and occupation of Ukraine. The NATO allies decided not to get directly involved and just supply them. This has been the case in war. The republicans were big hawks about the war in Ukraine, and now it sounds like they will throw Ukraine under the bus. Border security? There was a very good bipartisan border security bill that got shot down because Trump told MAGA republicans to vote against it. So, it was just politics to make Biden look bad, not make the border more secure. What happened to the republican party?

The Constitution provides for a Supreme Court without specifying how many justices. The number has varied. FDR tried to change the number but met with great resistance. Theoretically, a President could reduce the number of justices but not eliminate the court itself. In practice, that would be nearly impossible. Congress would get involved as well - a true Constitutional Crisis.

i hope all of MAGA understands if they vote for trump cases, then that means its wide open for biden to do the same, and the game is on from there.

I don't understand the argument against Colorado, that individual states can't be allowed to enforce the 14th amendment. Who else? The states administer elections. Yes, a national decision is needed, and the Court is being asked for that. This is just how it must and should play out, as far as I can see. I'd like to know what Kagan is thinking.

It will be fun to see the tortuous dance that these "textualists/originalists" will do to kep the Dumpster on the ballot.

Should the Supreme Court rule to delay the trials in order to favor Trump that could be it's own end as a separate Branch of Government. Let the people in the state to vote and decide if Trump can be on the ballot or not. The problem is those states are traditionally Republican.

That’s your opinion! You don’t get to make laws in the US but nice try. If you want to live in a dictatorship, move to Canada or Australia. They are waiting for you right now.

If section 3 of the 14th Amendment is not feasible, why is it still part of the Constitution? The SC ruling overturning Roe, left it to each state to decide how it would act. Then why can't each state decide who goes on their primary ballot? The SC needs to make up its mind if states can make their own decisions, or if the SC will cherry pick. Their job is to rule on the Constitution, but they seem to be deciding on their political leanings and ideologies. They need to be consistent, and stay out of political and election cases. You'd think Bush v. Gore wd have taught them not to interfere, their intervention was arbitrary, and what a coincidence that 3 of the lawyers on Bush's team are now SC Justices.
