Superstition Mountain OHV Area | On The Trail

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

When people think of California sand dune wheeling, they probably think about Glamis, but on this episode of On the Trail, we travel to one of the hidden gems in the Colorado desert: Superstition Mountains OHV Area. This small mountain range is home to some great dunes and rock trails for a day of wheeling. The sand can be tricky to navigate, but if you have the right rig and some friends with you, there’s no reason why you can’t have a great day.

12:30 The Razorback Dune
14:57 Outro with Matt Moghaddam, Sara Moroson, and Chuck Dempsey
Of course, having the right rig is important when you’re driving over dunes, and we made sure to bring out some vehicles fully up to the task. First off, host Matt Moghaddam brought out his 2014 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon on 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Both of his guests on the trail, Sara Morosan of Baja Forged and Chuck Dempsey of Baja Kits, took Broncos out to the dunes, with Sara in her 2021 Ford Bronco on 37-inch Nitto Recon Grapplers and Chuck in his 2021 Ford Bronco on 37-inch Nitto Trail Grapplers.
Things got a little dicey when both Matt and Chuck attempted going down the largest sand dune they had ever been on, but with the help of Sara and her years of experience at Glamis, it was an amazing experience for everyone.

I use an RV stabilizer jack. It's rated for 5000 lbs and you can use your impact to lift it.. It lifts my 2007 F150 on 37s no problem. It goes up 24 inches

No lockers? If you pop a tire and the computer starts sending power to the wheel giving a wave that’s the whole purpose for the locker

Do their Broncos not have lockers? I have a Badlands with both front and rear - that obstacle would not have been any issue at all. Also 1. any spec on their Broncos? Like what front bumpers and skid plates? lift info? seems the baja kits one has king but … i’m interested. Also 2. I’m in Phoenix and “Superstition Mountain” got my attention into this video lol… never heard of another one so, that’s good to know.

The one that had the troubles looked like an outer banks model, which does not have lockers.

Not judging, as I’m new to the scene… but based on seeing more of the video… that looks to have much more to do with experience level, than equipment…

@@andyackerman7123 I don’t think so. The one guy races vehicles and the lady used to ride in Glamis and other areas. I believe that is the bronco on full display. It has poor articulation and the brake lock differential system is garbage in comparison to the jeep.
