Sadly, the plot was Reeves' idea. He was massively disappointed in the finished (well, half-finished) film, but letting him do an anti-nuke-weapon story was how Cannon convinced him to sign on.

For all its shortcomings, we must acknowledge that "Superman IV: The Quest For Peace" exposed failures in DC's logic concerning the Kent foster parentage of Superman. How did the Kent's manage to cut Clark's hair all those years? I mean, they would have needed kryptonite scissors or something. All I can think of is Ma Kent going to cut her adopted son's hair only to see him lapse into epileptic fits in the process.

Timothy Jahn instead of bitching about youtube as credibility, do your own research beside youtube if you don't believe it. I know I did. Like I said cost would hindered it. Just getting into it out of earth's atmosphere is hard enough. not to mention should something do go wrong during the launch it can cause radiation leaks if the launch do explode. Even getting independent companies that's not fund by the government would still cost millions of dollars to do it.

I have to hand it to the critics of this film they have some awesome collection of films and anime behind them and a Nintendo 64. You know something though, even with all the hate for Superman 3 and 4 given I love all 4 movies as a Kid I can't hate the last 2 films mostly because I am a Christopher Reeves fan. It is like the Super Mario Bros movie which we all know it is bad, but we enjoy watching it as a guilty pleasure. I would still watch all 4 Superman movies because I am a fan of Christopher Reeves. Honestly I feel kind of sad that Superman 3 and 4 did not get the treatment it deserved like Superman 1 and 2 which were awesome, but still don't see any better Superman then Christopher Reeves. The same with Michael Keaton from 1989 Batman which was the most realistic and real Batman in my eyes.

II iii Don't know about that. Given what we know now on how crazy nature can be, All nukes at once could cause a disruption starting from top to inside, something not noticeable right away, What if it changed the location of sun spots or laid ground work for solar storms to build and pull reserves from the excess energy, What if the sun got disrupted and later on shot a SUPER massive SOLAR flare at us later on years even.. It's not about the size or the fact that they would fizzle away , It's about disruption, Like dropping a stone in the ocean that causes ripples down the line. Therefore because of the ripple effect. I'd say lets not.

You guys vastly underestimate the size and power of the sun. The sun actually IS one gigantic perpetual nuclear explosion. Even if all of the weapons detonated at once, literally nothing would happen. We would not even be able to see any change in light from the sun even with the best telescopes. Even if every single nuke on earth went off at the same time and place, the planet itself would not be damaged. Just a short mini ice age, nasty fallout for a few hundred years, and a big crater. The asteroid that killed the dinosaurs delivered tens of thousands times more explosive power than every single nuke on earth, and yet it is only the size of a mountain. The sun is simply so incalculably large and powerful that even the entire planet crashing into the Sun would have almost no effect on the sun's activity, integrity or longevity.

@@dannydemonic4799 that’s why I said if it was every nuke at once and one Nuke is equal to the heat of the sun, if this hits the inner layer which is a lot cooler , a chain reaction can occur and this is more likely if EVERY NUKE was launched, also each nuke can be different in blast radiance and size of blast, given that radiation is also present slightly different when manufactured in different ways and with more components than the sun which yea also has radiation not including other elements present in each Nuke, you HAVE TO CONSIDER that nature is delicate and any disruption is bad to natural processes, and since each can have an equal or OPPOSITE reaction the risk of throwing things off is greater than you would think, we also have to think about solar flares and build up, the energy doesn’t just dissipate, it spreads and is also released outward and a solar flare containing new elements the sun is not used to admin pressure , composition, etc, is far far more than a mosquito bite, IF and only if a solar flare was released right away due to the reaction it could cause extra momentum to reach earth with more devastation than If it was 1 inch radius less , we’ve barely missed them before on this line, so consider we can’t know for sure, the amount of Nukes and most importantly.. nature is Very very delicate if the balance is thrown off by even a hair! Let’s also consider if we launched each Nuke at the same time at different areas of the sun which would cause the radio us to meet at each shockwave point and cause sn extra kick which would still happen when each Nuke is even a mile apart

Every nuclear weapon ever made launched into the sun would not even phase it. They would not even make the surface, since they would be vaporized long before reaching the surface. He could have just launched the missiles out of the ecliptic plane of the solar system where they would be travelling, forever, through space. Maybe some distant star or planet draws them in for contact or vaporization. Like Carl Sagan once said, "all you need is one impoverished graduate student" for scientific reality.

All of the Superman movies ended with the same visual shot of Superman flying towards the sun.

Tyrant Gregcag nope 1 and 4 are same, 2 and 3 are slightly different. In 2 and 3 he raises his left arm.

I was also a kid. 9. I didn’t love it, but I very much liked it well enough. It’s basically Christopher Reeve Superman wearing Adam West Batman Clothes.
