Part of Clark and Lois's dynamic is how Clark uses his own personal experiences as Superman to beat her to the byline. So he can afford to be a little self-grandstanding, and if Lois is in the know about his identity then they can actually tease each other over it playfully. The photos by Jimmy and Lex only getting a slight mention help establish this universe quite well. And while we can't get the best look at the suit in the photos, it does look like it should appear more fitting when in action. I'm also just glad we are getting a kind of 'more powerful than a locomotive' bit in this film. Also, I just looked through this again and when it said Luthor won the 'Arcane Award' wheels began to turn. I'm thinking that might be a reference to Anton Arcane, the mad scientist archenemy of Swamp Thing, another hero we will see in the DCU.

I love that this Superman is more retro, with the sepia tone of the photos, plus the details like the suit with the underwear and the curly hair. James Gunn will probably gives us something unique to this Superman.

The best thing about Cavill's Superman suit was the designs. I loved the designs on Cavill's suit. But it's the blue color that threw me off. It was too dark and when it got dirty, it looked even worse. This suit however has a lighter blue but still slightly dark from the 90s animated series and when it's dirty it not as bad either. So I like that. I just want a clearer image. The trunks look big, though.

The suit looks great here, imo. I like the full cut trunks like he wears in All-Star Superman, along with the wider belt. The Arcane Genius Award is likely a reference to Anton Arcane, Swamp Thing's arch-nemesis, and the Choco factory headline is a fun Martian Manhunter easter egg.

I have the same issue with the Trunks for now. I can not look at them and not think they look silly for now.

Does this even really matter? I mean, if the studio had Brainiac confirmed as the villain for Gunn's Superman Reboot it would have been more worth checking out. But no because he didn't even bother to make sure of that after canceling so many movies 2 years ago.

In my personal opinion, I think the Superman suit is good And I know you can't. Please everyone opinions but in my straight opinion I think I really like the suit and also in different photos. It looks like the suit is coming off. Maybe he will get a new suit and maybe he's been Superman for a while Because in one of the daily planet newspapers it shows Clark Kent writing a newspaper and it doesn't feel like It's it's first time it feels like he's been doing this for a while

as a cleveland native, i'm very happy with the choice to use the original Metropolis of Simon & Schuster, Cleveland, subbing in for the movie version.

So so so so glad we got the trunks. It screams Superman to me. It's hard to see through the blurriness but man, the suit is looking great.

Gunn really should have introduced the suit this way, because I'm actually intrigued now! However, it is a very typical Superman 'saves to day' - very typical superhero saves to day in fact. Just hope it isn't over generic. Superman saves a train, Superman saves a plane, Superman saves a space shuttle, etc., etc.

It reminds me of that quote from Bruce Wayne in Batman vs. Superman, when he talks to Clark Kent, and after seeing this, it makes me laugh with amusement. and it looks like it is going to be a good movie so far. Which means it is going to be ok, I am not going to say it is going to be great yet until I see the first trailer and then the movie because I grew up with Henry Cavills Man of Steel and Christopher Reeves Superman and so it needs to stand alongside those movies to call it great for me. Corenswet has high cheek bones and a sharp jawline but in the photo looks a tad bloated. It is also noticeable in the pic of him reading the comic. Bulking up quickly pften causes the face to put on a lot of weight which sems to have happened to Corenswet.

That is awesome!!! The pose he has in the metropolis eagle is perfect. I agree with you that these newspaper shots should have been the suit reveal. Cant wait to see this Superman in action.

I'm still not a fan of the trunks since, again, interpretations like Superman and Lois have shown that Superman nowadays in live-action can work without them. However, a high-res version of either of those photos probably would've gone over better for a first look at Superman versus what we got, I feel.

@@OurMovieNews All I'm saying is that 'Man of Steel' is a good movie, but it feels like it lacks the storytelling side of Clark Kent, focusing more on Superman instead. In this version of Superman, it obviously tackles Clark's life more in Metropolis. It can't go wrong if it has the whole cast of the Daily Planet behind it. Therefore I can already say that this will be the real Superman movie
