I'd have to give it a go, but I think it might be possible. I would make small plates and glue them ontop of the foam, so that there will be articulation between the plates.

Thank you for this review. What size did you get? I am 5' 5" and my waist is 32 inches, trying to decide between Xsmall vs small, base on the Superior Fencing pant size chart.

Thanks for making this vid. Out of interest how high is the waistline on these? Do they reach the natural waist (near navel) or just modern pants height (hips) on you?

How well suited are these for wrestling/dagger work when a lot of leg grabbing is involved plus Unterhalten (ground grappling), is the material robust enough to not get tangled up and/or torn from ground contact? My thighs are slim so I imagine there would be a lot of legless air around my thighs, increasing the "hit box". This review came just in time as I'm looking for some new pants to replace my SF 800N which are quite good but my next pair of HEMA pants needs to have removable inlays so I can remove the pads in hot weather and replace the standard EVA foam with something stronger for higher impact weapons (poleaxe/halberd etc). Also, the drying time of the SF 800N is simply too slow for using it on consecutive days.

The material is very robust, it should workf or wrestling/dagger. The slits aren't actually real slits, they are sewed panels, so you can't grab a slit and rip it out easily.

my girth circumference of my tips is 30inch, but my student who is 6'8 and roughly 280 pounds was able to fit them too, so they have lots of stretch.

I have, the PSA knees go over them easily. They are sold on HEMA Gear Canada. Problem is if there was a way to suspend them with a arming point or something, it would be much more comfortable.

@@inutiasha that's the dream, I'd like to sell more historical looking gear, but currently I am looking for time to design one with them that looks more like a doublet, but for light weapons. Probably will be released next year.

@@philswiftHEMA kool man, ill keep an eye out, i know they made 16century hema coats too, but from their images it looks like the skirts are to long and would ruin the plunderhosen look. A video idea for you maybe to see what coats fit it or match??
