Colorful HEMA gear always makes me happy.

I ordered the jacket SHORTLY before the video was uploaded, in the same colors (but a different pattern, the colors on my left side are reversed). I thought the colors (oxblood red and gold) would be a bit brighter, stronger and was therefore worried that they would be a bit too bright and flashy. But now that I finally have the jacket in my hands, I have to say that I like the slightly darker, less bright colors much better than I had previously imagined. I can only agree with all the points, you get this jacket simply to stand out from the crowd :) I also ordered the matching "Pluderhose" pants in the same colors, again with the pattern reversed on one side. The pants and jacket are available at a slightly reduced price as a set with gloves. The items go really well together and I can recommend the set to anyone!

It looks really good, thanks for info i'll be receiving mine soon. How is the space inside for a body protector? I've noticed with the AP light that my plastic body protector has a tendency to move up with my jacket. Any experience?

I love the looks, but if it's between an AP light and an AP, I'd imagine that you'd need elbow pads, and extra arm protection at a minimum if you were going to spar longsword or messer. How has it been adding elbow and forearm protection? Have you tried it? Also, my AP light does not have extra upper arm protection, and I am always getting my upper right arm bruised from longsword hits. What is the upper arm padding like on this jacket, especially considering the beautiful slits?

Just so I got this right, there is padding on the upper arm where the puffy sleeves are?

Yes. There's a decent amount.

I bet those slashes catches sword tips like nothing else. I have serious doubts how long it will stay unripped so a sowing kit and some color matching patches are prob a good thing to keep on hand.

Actually, that was the reason for the slash and puff style of the time. The poofy sleeves and slashes caught sword blades and protected the wearer.

I own this jacket, i designed it. Have been using it for a year and no problems at all with the slashes (I do rapier and longsword)

Does the poofy shoulders get it the way of wearing pads?

How resillient is the fabric to strikes and blades getting stuck in it?

the fabric is very tough, so far no blades getting stuck as there are no openings in the arms slits. I've been using the jacket intensively since january, i designed the jacket from a sketch I made and superior fencing made it (and now they have it as a regular product).

@@MichaelGThomas mainly with the slits - looks like its a superb way of catching a blade accidentally Depending on material that could hurt you or rip it

@@trekt9641 I have no doubt that it will rip if a forceful stab gets in there but it will not hurt you as i assume it's added on top of the actual protection so if it rips it hits the padding. Tho with only 350n i would not stab or do full contact sparing with a steel feder period.

Can you move your arms and bend them?

"tight around the tummy..." There is another solution besides buying a larger jacket. Is HEMA good for fitness? Seems not considering all the well-known He-Man Sword Gods on UToob could lose 60 to 80 kilograms. Especially Fat Shad and his Rolly-Polly Gang of Puer Aeternus. Very poor examples ...
