Although not shown in this video, I loved John Cleland kicking out the passenger side window to get out of the car and then helpfully picking up the debris from the track...and later, in the best tradition of British politeness, suggested that Plato might have considered moving a little bit further to the side of the track.

Thank you for making these videos. I’m just now getting into V8 supercars (well, technically REinto them, I watched them when I could in 2009, 2010, 2011 but lost interest besides the time they were in Austin) and this teaches me A: the corners and b: some of the history and stuff from since there all NO supercar races outside of Melbourne that are watchable on KZread

Matt Parsons there are parts of V8SC content on KZread, you just have to look hard. An easy example is that on the official Supercars channel the full B1000s for 2008-2012 are uploaded.

Obviously not a supercar so it wouldn’t be on the list, but Len Caves rollover in I think was the 2007/2008 Bathurst 12 hour in a Mazda 3 was one of the worst accidents I’ve seen at Bathurst.

Thomas Hurst That’s awesome! I grew up a 45 minute drive from Indy. But there’s no way to explain how racing sims have increased racing fandom. When you know the tracks, it’s far more interesting to watch! Bathurst is easily one of my favorites and would love to check it off my bucket list. Those of us who live near famous racing courses should start a race exchange program where if you make the trip you will feed and lodge and take them to the race race and vice versa.

0:30 those who say that it was Scott's fault your wrong. Whincup divebomb and pushes Scott off track readresses and blocks Tander, Tander tries to overtake and ends up into Scott. Jamie caused that one.

im a redbull supporter for some reason, but im starting not to be because I hate how agressively they drive at times, but tbh I cannot see how Jamie is at fault. He was stupid to redress there but Tander should not have moved where there wasnt a gap and scott shouldnt have moved into tanders path. all three to blame if anything

Everyone was at partial fault for the accident. Whincup losing control and forcing Scott off the road was the catalyst, JW then slowing to redress it gave Tander the incentive to try and overtake, with Scott coming back on the circuit in an unsafe manner with Tander not being able to see him coming.

Ok I feel that it is both of their fault. I've watched this crash many times and I have come to understand the unsafe overtake and the u she redress was the cause of the crash

As far as my knowledge goes, which is fairly reasonable, I'm pretty sure it would go down as a racing incident Firstly the divebomb, doesn't have the breaks, redresses, that is all a okay, racing incident, if he didn't redress he'd be forced to and move on But the crash it's self, Whincup is at fault for the aforementioned incident, but he is redressing, however Scott is then at fault for the way he renters, he comes across much to far and should leave room for Tander Tander is the innocent bystander in this incident, he has too much speed to stay behind Whincup and trying to slow down would result into being in the back of Whincup and he couldn't have reasonably seen Scott Realistically it is a Racing Incident, with multiple drivers (Whincup and Scott) at fault

I watch BTCC I’m suprised Plato even raced v8 supercars, they never say it on the commentary about how much experience he has within racing and btcc have told Plato to retire but he just keeps going to new race teams he is that old now, there is a racer for PIRTEK I like (2020 hearing from) is Andrew Jordan, I recognised the name from v8 supercars as a substitute driver in v8 supercars

That Radisich crash was shocking. Who thought that a 45 degree wall to the track was safe.

I think everyone was.

I still miss the old straight.. cutting the very end of doesn't make it any safer. Cars travel at massive speeds and get unstable by the bumps, trying to max it through the kink

I seen a picture of a VK that slammed into the barrier in 86 just after the tyre bridge, it hit that hard the front half of the car was pushed into the backseat, unfortunately the driver didn't survive

The fencing leading up to the bridge was changed after Paul Radisich's incident to stop cars impacting the base of the bridge.

Those sand traps cause more damage than just going off track and hitting a wall lol

They can, yes, but that's not the point of the sand. The sand is to dissipate the energy the car is carrying quickly and slow it down before it hits the wall. Hitting the sand at 200 kmh is going to do some damage, but it is a lot less dangerous to the driver than simply going off course and smashing a barrier at 200 kmh.

All them guys are champs get up dust it off and do it again

To me it’s so satisfying watching cars crash like Ano the drivers get hurt and that but apart from that

The only I can say about these super car drivers is they are lunatic drivers, like at a demolition derby.

I remember watching 1:28 live. In all honesty for the V8's. They aren't as exciting anymore. The cars are all the same now, back in the years the cars weren't all the same, it required skill. The bulkier cars would power down the straight but the minis and the mazdas and GTR all zoomed to the top of the hill. Wish the cars were more thrilling but sadly over the years it just isn't entertaining to watch full time.

You know when people say 300kph i say i have no idea how fast 300kph is but if you said 156mph id say holy shit he is flyin, basically kph means nothing of speed because im American and we use mph which i think is better, same as this town is 136 kilometers away i think ok how far is that because i didnt learn distance in kilometers but if you said this town is 197miles away id say ok itle be a 4 hour drive and about $150 in gas round trip
