From a F1 fan, I can add Supercars to my favourite motorsports. It joins F1, MotoGP, WRC, NASCAR and IndyCar.

In a strange time of watching my beloved NASCAR taking its nosedive , I am uplifted at the site of Aussie V8 supercars. Always have been. The charisma of the Aussies & the way they talk motorsports, My cup O tea. Much unconditional love from this Yank.

From the states and I just got into Supercars in 2021. Love this.

The 2012 season opener was the first motor race I ever watched, and the Whincup Will Davison last lap was epic. It had everything you could want in a race from passes to crashes to strategy, with a 2 stopper saving fuel vs a 3 stopper going all out, converging on the last lap. Epic stuff, and I've been hooked ever since.

Love this series since my PS2 days, found out playing Toca Race Drive 3. Tough to see many races due to lack of broadcasting in Brazil and the time difference, but I've managed to watch the 1000 almost every year. Had the privilege to see Forsty racing in my hometown track in 2015, his championship season, in the doubles race of our Stock Car Pro Series. He finished 2nd that day on a race that is similar (shorter distance) to the Endurance races of Supercars. He ran with Marcos Gones, the eventual champion of the 2015 seasons in our Stock Car Pro Series. Back in the TRD3 days we had a brazilian running Supercars, Max Wilson. He did not performed really well there despite running for DJR and Triple Eight in two of his seasons.

Shane Van Gisbergen is a very talented and versatile driver. To go from circuit to a podium finish in WRC2 in New Zealand in late September. Unbelievable.

Shane wrecked me once under yellow on iracing. This was well over a decade ago. He full throttled into me and destroyed me. Under caution. I remember following him into another server with Scott McLaughlin and they both laughed at me when I tried to argue with them. I protested and iracing said there was nothing bad cus they paid Shane to use the service for promotions. I hated Shane for a long time because of this. He was a rookie I believe they year this incident happened. Maybe the year prior. I had no clue he’d become a legend. I don’t say this to bash either driver. I’m happy they’re successful. Kinda dope I got wrecked by Shane under yellow. It’s on par with being wrecked by tony Stewart or Fernando Alonso IMO

@@N4SCARfaN seriously. I’m a pretty die hard NASCAR fan and I didn’t even know he was with trackhouse at Chicago until qualifying started. I was like wtf I can’t escape this dude. Best part is Red Bull is my favorite f1 team. Shane is sponsored by Red Bull in super cars. Penske is my favorite cup team, and Scott McLaughlin races for Penske in super cars. They’re entire existence was my childhood dream hahahaha

Remember when Supercars had 5 manufacturers? Those were the days.

There's no short of great circuits in Australia, that's for sure.

Whincup vs VanGiz at the Gold Coast to me was the most exciting last 3 laps I've seen in a very long time

Stopped watching TV about 7 years ago, but seeing this reminds me of staying up late to watch these cars being flung all over the place, I live in IRELAND so times are different, but well worth it...the only thing I miss about TV is sports...

Whincup made the adelaide race, because without pulling off that manic overtake at the hairpin there is no last corner mistake.

Everyone sh*ts on Whincup but this clearly shows that he never left anything on the table and he's involved in most of these battles!

All it proved was a driver had the best car & that driver happened to be Whincup... His skills were not that good & Van Gis proved that by winning championship in his 1st year along side Whincup...Any driver could of done the same thing when Red Bull had the best car all those years. It took Roger Penske to put money into DJR & create cars/team that gave it to red bull & produced championships for Scotty Mc...

@@chrisvanegmond3157 The best car made him look good...When a team has the most money to spend to build the best car for years on end of course that converts to championships...SVG proved it was the car NOT the driver when he won the title in his 1st year at 888. Spending caps should of been brought in years ago. Hopefully we shall see better competition in 2023...888 complained at just about every opportunity when Roger Penske put his money into DJR & produced a car that could compete/beat them...

@@shotgunsteve1 Broc feeney ain't that good yet...SVG was established & showed how easy it was to win in a 888 car...If Penske & Scott Mc stayed you would be the one complaining because they would of been holding all the titles...Whincup more like whinge cup...He got away with so much crap during his career..but still not the greatest..didn't even have the guts to go & compete overseas because he knew he wasn't good enough...Bring in budget caps and make it an even competition & then have an argument. as long as there is no budget cap, 888 will just keep spending the money to have the best car...

I find the car from this series in Automobilista 2 to be one of the most fun in the game - in VR with an rtx 4080, it looks like a youtube video at times.

Not an aussie. These cars are fucking crazy man. And these drivers even more so. I wish I can be there some day.

The last incident was at least tried to say I'm sorry in the right way. He obviously knew he messed up, and waited for him to pass him before the finish line. I'm sure he felt terrible for that bump, and these things happen. They're human like any other, so incidents will happen again and again.
