@@creamncheese7761 Actually, it's an energy-projectile-based counter that can be reflected or absorbed. Try using the Mii Gunner's Absorbing Vortex or Falco's Reflector, that will fix Sephiroth.

@@Infoagemage If I remember correctly, the reflector box pops up after the hit box interacts with a projectile, so because the swing animation pauses briefly when interacting with the counter, the reflector activates the instant the actual counter hit box appears

@@MultiOwyn these are mostly if Seph uses Sclinta by itself instead of as a counter. Lucas was using an attack and Sephiroth used Sclinta to counter it, which instead increased its power, and then it was sent the countered move back by the rest of Lucas’ stick

11:36 Gigaflare didn't break the shield. You can just see the sparkles of the Scintilla reflecting the damage through the explosion. It is very difficult to spot but if you look closely you can see it didn't break. The explosion was just so big, it hit Sephiroth behind the Scintilla.

I've done it with Ness several times too. Every time it happened Sepiroth got KOed. I think it worked for me because I didn't hold Ness's forward smash, which means the shield wouldn't break and the damage would be reflected.

Pichu is stronger for a price of his own damage.

I like how if a character can do it, you show every way they can do it. Most challenge videos I've seen only focus on if they can do it, not how they can do it, and this information is good to know for if you're fighting Sephiroth.

Funfact: Hero's Bounce magic can not only render counter useless but the smash explosions used after the counter actually hits sepheroth with max damage

@@spiritbaki108 no, im fairly certain it fails. it's a multihit, and i think it does less than 25%, which is what is needed to break the counter. Even if it did do a total damage greater than 25%, since it's a multihit, sephiroth would just counter the first hit i think although i'm not super sure and i could definitely be wrong, either way i can't test it out myself because i dont have sephiroth

i love how most of those that can break the shield (and some who can't) have either fought gods or are gods themselves, conquered kingdoms and galaxies, have fought wars that spanded across the universe, know forbidden magic and wield weapons of mass destruction. and then there's little mac. that breaks the shield by punching it really hard.

This counter is kinda complicated actually. In my test I've found when stale moves are active the move doesn't matter and it breaks if more than 30% is done. Interestingly it also counts as a stale move and will do less damage if spammed. Since his counter works as such it will do more damage if in winged form. Your best bet is to counter on those spamming projectiles like samus since if you are hit once with her charged beam the second will be below the 30% mark. Another amazing property is the damage the counter will do when moves with different hit boxes are concerned. The counter will do the same damage to the enemy regardless of weak spot or not. Piranha plant will break the counter normally with a fully charged F smash, but if block the weak point closer to the pot it won't break and will do huge damage.
