I'm a retired Union Boilermaker and that is a pressure vessel under neath the white wrap you can see orifices sticking out and that is where the piping will be welded to it also the round gray attachments that are not covered up are the trunnions where the rigging will be connected to it that is the top of it when they get to the site they will bolt a temporary saddle on the bottom of it then use two cranes to lift it out of the hauler once it is out of the hauler they will raise the top and lower the bottom then remove the bottom saddle and place the vessel to its foundation and bolt it down it is really cool being involved in these heavy lifts

Nothing uncommon in east Houston at the largest refinery in the U.S.A. Happens all the time, and loads are 3 times that size.

For one thing, there are construction zones there that would make it impossible, never mind the overpasses that are too low. Plus, it's much less disruptive to take a rural highway than a major interstate.

How much weight are the side roads built to handle, I wouldn't question it if i didnt see signs all the time on side roads saying 4 tons or less. Maybe the rules only apply to normal everyday people

It is a steam pressure vessel depending on what they are doing they use super heated steam to separate chemicals just like at oil refineries

And they'll write a trucker hauling gravel a ticket for being a half ton over. 🙄. It's all about the money , boys.

The thing is as wide as two car lanes, so it would be less stable on standard gauge track, and there's no tracks near or at the build site.
