OMG! Within the first two minutes of the video... From someone who is a semi experienced crocheter and has crocheted for 50+ years and after watching a gazillion other tutorials, some of which seemed okay but also frustrating, discombobulated, etc.. Finally! Within TWO minutes of this girl explaining the breakdown of what will be done it's like.. YAY!!! It's doable!
This tutorial is an absolute life saver. I've never been able to finish a yarn project before but i am currently wearing the balaclava I made and i love it! I skipped two stiches instead of just one, using the same logic you provided to make it snugger and it worked out great! Thanks for being so clear (telling me that chaining up 1 doesn't count as a stitch is always where i get confused with other patterns or videos)

This video made everything SO much clearer for me. You’ve helped me finish my first project after dozens of incomplete and abandoned work. THANK YOU SO MUCH this video is truly a life saver, I’m forever in love with crocheting now and could not have learnt without this video!!!
This is the first big project I’ve finished since starting to crochet - thank you for making it so fun and easy to learn! 💞 I used different coloured yarn for the ribbing at the bottom and around the face to give it a little extra pop and it looks great.
I’ve been crocheting for years and never saw the front post back post stitch technique, so cool thanks for including it in this pattern
Thank you for explaining and showing it so well!!
This is so perfect, thank you!! I love little projects like this as a beginner, it's nice to be able to get to a finished product within a couple of days. Thank you for making this so simple and discussing customisation options as well!

Thank you so much for your tutorial!! This is the best
Turned out absolutely stunning!! You have the best tutorial I can find! I love that you show us how to do every stitch! Did not have to refer to any other videos! * For anyone making this note that she isn’t using a super thin yarn… I used one for my first balaclava and although it turned out great it was a little snug… it was giving buzz light year. If you’re looking for a more relaxed balaclava use a thick yarn and a bigger needle! * also when doing the bottom ribbing make sure to do the same amount of stitches between attaching each rib or the neck will be kind of off center Ps… you should do a bunny or teddy bear ear tutorial for the balaclava!!
@rebecca21wong99

I ended up using thinner yarn as well! Tip if you want to use the thinner yarn is that whenever she models it on her head, I tried it on myself to see if it matched what it looked like on her. So I ended up doing more rows overall and it came out great! :)

@emmahjen8755

@@josalee6479 I believe i used a 5.5 mm crochet needle. The yarn i don't remember. But the only thing i changed was the amount of rows. I just added the amount that felt right, as long as it matched with the recommended measurements in the video :)
This tutorial is amazing. I just finished my balaclava and I absolutely love it. I stumbled on this tutorial as a beginner crochet-er and thought it would be perfect to wear under my helmet when cycling in the cold. I followed this tutorial exactly except I chained 14 for the neck ribbing to make it a little longer. I used 67g (~140yd) of Lion Brand Scarfie yarn, and it's soooo soft and cozy. You are super clear and make it really easy to see what stitches to go into, and I also learned a ton of new techniques. Thank you so much!!
