SUNDAYS AT THE CHATEAU: THE STORY SO FAR!!!!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

To celebrate 'The Chateau Diaries' becoming one of the top 1000 Patreon accounts in the world this week, I look back at the story of our time at the chateau so far. We were here for over a decade before appearing on tv or having a vlog, and its those years that I'd love to share with you today. It hasn't always been easy and I've been digging through old photos to unearth some of Lalande during the worst of the building work. It's been a lot of fun to look back!
Escape to the chateau with ’The Chateau Diaries’ 🏰
In 'Sundays at the Chateau', chatelaine Stephanie answers all your questions about life in the 16th century Chateau de Lalande, in the heart of rural France ❤️
A very special thank you to all of you who have become Patrons of the Chateau de Lalande. As you can imagine, your help means more to me now than ever. Because of you, I'll be able to keep living at Lalande and making videos even without our chambres d'hotes income during lockdown! I’ve been overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity. On behalf of this beautiful chateau that will continue to survive and flourish because of you, thank you!!!

When I was about four, my cousin and I were playing with her tea set....she bemoaned the fact we had no tea to drink, I, being the helper, went to the med. cabinet, and brought back codeine cough syrup...yummy! After a while I went downstairs and stood on the staircase. I then told everyone there.. that the curtains did not match the drapes...apparently that stirred them up...my cousin and I were put to bed for a long winter's nap...guess what! My carpet matches my drapes!!;; I won!!!

Your dad had a vision for that chateau and for you. “Every dream comes with massive hardship.” You brought me to tears because I am currently finishing an old house which my husband and I were working on- and now I am finding, day by day, the courage to go on alone. I thank you from my heart for the inspiration!

Dear Stephanie, all your vlogs are beautiful, but this time I was so touched that I was crying. My husband looked at me, puzzled, 😄 and I told him the whole story. Of course he knows I’ve been following your vlogs for a long time. Your attitude in life is very much like mine. But my father was the opposite of supportive, when I wanted to persue my dream, arts. Eventually, a very long and sad story short, we broke up. I followed my dreams and I have done well in my field. My husband is my biggest supporter and I’m very, very happy on our farm, gardening and making art. Even in the saddest moments, humor and love for life always won. Your vlogs are no escape for me, but they really resonate with me. Thank you so much, Stephanie. I am very, very happy for you, for the way things took a turn for the best! Well deserved!! Big Hug from Holland. (safe distance. 😄) 💛💕💛

It has gotten me through working in healthcare during Covid-19, a relationship that ended and now being furloughed from work and I just started watching in February. I love the fact that your videos can take me thousands of miles away - from Kansas City Missouri to France for free and I am very grateful that when I came home from work, when I have just finished crying over my break up and today coming from work learning I now don't have a job - you make me smile and I feel that there is hope. It seems as though the original Formidable Foursome (your parents, you and Nic) were the ideal dream team. Isabelle & Nic were the Yin to you & your father's Yang. Their tendancy to worry or be concerned ensured that the practical work was carried out as efficiently as possible, while the optimism shared by you and your father kept the energy high and the drive strong to continue going forward and making your dreams a reality. What amazing teamwork! It is so heart-warming to see the Lalande team/family continue to grow and evolve over time. Thank you for another beautiful vlog

I do not have a Chateau, but do live in the old house and a garden bought by my husband which I am remodeling for 25 years already. I wish I would have so much optimism as you have. If I knew how much hard work it would take from me I would insist on moving to another house back in time, but I’ve done so much beautiful transformation already to that property that it is impossible to betray it now because everybody around loves it. Wishing you luck continuing your chateau🔆Hi from California💖

Someone mentioned TED TALK, This would absolutely be a good inspirational Ted Talk...Surviving a relationship breakup and then becoming the best of friends and how friendships have shaped your life and losing your father and then how everything has worked out so perfectly, including your mother's new relationship and marriage , letting us realize how life goes on after the death of a loved one. I have witnessed this with friends in my my life as well. You have many TED TALKS in you !!

I feel like houses and property do feel the love that we have for them. This is my first video I've watched of yours and I really love everything about what you've done and your vision and excitement for the chateau. I'm so glad that things have worked out along the way that the finances came when you needed them most through You Tube and Patreon. I'm sorry your dad could not be there sharing his enthusiasm along the way, but I do believe he is there in spirit.

You sharing your life with me (us) and it being so different then my daily life is showing how we can all connect even if we're in other countries and living completely different lives. As a small Patreon and just a viewer I hope to continue watching your journey and enjoying the French countryside in your lovely home. So when my husband and I moved with our two children into our comparatively tiny house on a tree-lined street, you were moving into your chateau....that was a long time ago and not so long ago! You achieved so much! Our big project was turning the 16 x 20 foot three season porch into a 4 season sun room. After that, well...not much more. Now it is just me and my two adult children and watching this channel has inspired me to really make my home just the way I pictured it in 2005 ❤️

The emotion in that video was spectacular and heart warming. Thanks Stephanie this was an amazing vlog. I laughed (mummy couldn't see the positive). I smiled (at the ups and downs of the journey). I cried (Daddy didn't need to see the end result as he could see it in his mind). I marvelled (at your persistence, your passion and your positivity). And that is why you connect with people, La Lande is lucky to have you looking after her xx
