Having a few beers and remembering my life when it was so good!! I'll be 80 on 9-11. I gave the Marines almost 5 years of my life. Toured Vietnam and lived a good life. I still love music and listening to it now. 2024. 60,70&80s.

Willie and Trigger…a duo that we’ll never see again. And Kris’s ability to craft a song is the stuff of genius.

If you weren’t around in the 70’s, for most of us this was reality. What a time to be alive. Kris Kristofferson is an absolute genius song writer. The highwaymen were everything country music needed. Rest In Peace Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings.

It’s not about joy in the morning. It’s beautiful but very sad at the same time This song is mainly about loneliness and lost opportunities or dreams. A Sunday morning dread for the week ahead, a come down from a Saturday where people have been relaxing or out socialising. People who end up completely alone on a summers day and see friends and family walking by

I know what you mean but it is probably as much due to a lack of awareness from many that he actually is a songwriter to begin with, and/or that people know his songs from numerous artists having covered them but just do not know that they were written or co-written by Kris. One of 'his' biggest hits here in the UK was One Day At A Time by Scottish singer Lena Martell in 1979. I expect too in some parts of the world where country music is not that popular that some people only know him as an actor and not even as a singer, let alone a songwriter.

I'm 98 years old and I wish I was around in the 70s and my dad died and he was still alive when I died but I got better and I have tears and this song was played at my mums funeral and this song brings tears and my dog died and I'm only 13 and love country and eastern music and my dad died and funeral and tears and dog

Do you know, I've heard that instead of the National guard being upset at Kristofferson diverting the helicopter to land on Cash's lawn, they use that helicopter landing AS A RECRUITMENT TOOL?! Cash and Kris tell different versions of the story. Go with the best story..

One of the all time favourite songs of my life. I have lived it, I have sung it and I have loved it all through my meandering, wandering glorious life. Thank you Kris K. For this wonderful anthem that has been a soundtrack to my life. The sun is fading but others will come in the new dawn. Perhaps none though, as great as you, sir.

I've heard Kris and Johnny do this song, but to hear them do it together, along with Waylon and Willie, is absolutely amazing!

My dad raised me alone from the age of 18 months. He loved Johnny and had all his records. I as a young little girl at maybe age 8 in the late 60s would come home from school and listen and sing along. Dad passed away last year and I miss him so much and more when I hear Johnny.

This is such a sad song, Sunday is family day, when you have lost all of your family due to death or your past regrets, it's the loneliest day of the week.

Besides this being best version, it is fantastic harmony and JC and KK are just at their best and the emotions between the two make this song the best. Four icons in one brilliant place singing an iconic song. This just beyond imagination.

You will never see talent like this on the same stage again. Waylon, Willie, Johnny, and Kris all playing and singing together. The background music is beautiful. The harmonica player adds so much to the song. Great job all you musicians! You all know how to play your instruments. I'm sure you all worked hard, but God gave you all a talent that many people don't have. I'm glad I wasn't born deaf so I could hear such great music from all of you. Well done!

this concert this whole performance needs to be in the smithsonian. This is one of those once in a lifetime concerts. I’m glad that the cameras were rolling. This is historic. And these 4 MEN were the very best

I have heard this song a hundred times, and watched it here as well and when Kristofferson nodded at Johnny Cash (your turn, sir) I thought, everyone one of them has been in that song. This is rough-living bunch of guys, and survivors. I love them all.

AT 82 I feel so in the presence of genius all around. I never that low & yet the lyrics reach out to somethin in me...It hooked me on first hearing.. It still does.

It's a religion for me. A few bottles of decent wine, headphones on and then sung into musical oblivion.

Not being a big country music fan, I always think of Kris Kristoffersen as an actor . I have to remind myself that he was also a country music legend.

Brilliant song writer this song almost makes me cry every time I hear it. No one should be that alone.

Know what that feels like. This song touched my soul way back when it first came out and I saw Johnny Cash preform it live on his TV show. But as a kid I had no real idea why it touched me or what most of it meant until I grew up and learned what all those feelings were like first hand...... KEH
