I'm repeating myself by saying that yet again I've learned something new from you about the nature of storms. You're not just giving us accurate forecast information, you're also educating your audience. Thanks again!

A little concerned he is saying this potential to increase but not saying it will YET. Minimal time to evacuate. Prepping my stuff now.

Im here in Homestead, Florida and I 100% agree!
Thank you again Dr. Levi. NC here, I've always kept an eye out for your videos for insightful information on exactly what is going on with these storms and why. You were an invaluable resource during Florence.
Thank you from Pasco County FLA
Watching from an apartment in a water-damaged building located on the Caloosahatchee River in downtown Fort Myers - still suffering from Ian's storm surge damage. Paying attention. We weren't given sufficient time to evacuate last year, so, just trying to be a bit more proactive. It does appear that Idalia will most likely make landfall a bit further north of Lee County, but, this is yet early in the season. No doubt, there will be more to come.

I'm sorry to hear your building was damaged by Ian. Here's hoping Idalia doesn't cause more damage, but be aware that even a track well north of you could cause significant water level rises in Ft. Myers. Stay safe!

As usual calm, cool and collected. Thank you for this respectful delivery of current information. When will we have all the reconnaissance information uploaded to the models?

Hurricane Hunters going in tonight 11 pm. WFLA you tube channel thinks it will hit FL Wed 2 am 100 mph near Crystal River with a 5-8 foot storm surge. This is just the model at this time. They said even Sanibel would get 2-4 ft. Storm surge.
Thank you for the logical and unbiased forecast. Great info.
Let's go Levi! Thx for keeping this small "project" called Tropical Tidbits going lol.. I'll continue to promote you on X / Twitter as well. LFG
Can't count the number of times I've listened to your videos and been impressed with the manner in which you explain the factors in play that affect hurricanes. It's allowed me to focus on making preparations and not over reacting or ignoring warnings from my local authorities. Thank you!
We have had a good strong wind here in Cozumel all day today. A few rain showers and the port closed for the second day in a row!
Thank you for the weather updates in the carribean 🌎⚡️🌩🌀🌪🔥🇺🇲🇵🇷
There are a lot of weather forecasters out there, and some are pretty damned good. If you want the “Gold Standard” for in depth analysis for Tropical storms, it is right here. Thanks, doc.
Appreciate u man! Way better than the regular forecast from the news!
Thank you, Dr. Levi! Glad you're on the case!
Praying 🙏 🤲 for all of the east coast from MS to Florida. You never let your guard down with any storm. Stay alert be prepared everyone.
Thank you Dr Levi The waiting game begins, much appreciated
Thanks so much for keeping us updated
Very great update, very interesting to see the meteorology behind this in specific detail. I’m from New Jersey and while they are rare, Hurricanes have happened up here and we should always be on the look out.
Subscribed given how I am in Tampa and this was an informative video.
Thank you Levi. We all appreciate you. Praying for all of us❤
Thank you Dr.Cowan for the update.

Thank You. Liked, and Shared.

Thanks for the great information and update Mr. Cowan! I love the science of these storms and you always bring incredible data to these videos and discussions! I'd love to see you get on an episode of WeatherBrains with my favorite meteorologist here in the south - James Spann. Like you he presents weather in a scientific and data driven way! Keep up the meaninful and incredible work sir!
Thank you very much
Thanks for the content. You’re very knowledgeable
Thank you for your eloquent analysis as always. You are the best!
My go to weather forecast here in Ormond Beach area I'm not ready for rain or wind but I'm not running thanks for all you do sir🙏
Thanks Dr Cowan, from the Mississippi gulf coast!
Reminds me of hurricane Wilma 2005. Forming in the same area.

I'm from Seattle and down in Port Canaveral doing the sailboat thing. Love your technical but clear explanations. We often get hurricane force winds in the PNW, but they are nothing like the hurricanes down here. I went through Ian and Nichole last year and was hoping an calmer season.
You are the man Levi!!
Facts not drama. My go to weather report.
Thank you for the excellent analysis of these systems.
Ty
Thanks Levi 💜🌀
The water temperatures in the Gulf are so high right now. The storm will intensify really quickly
Thanks.
Thank you. 👍
I live in Pinellas County on the coast. I know one thing for sure. I left Pinellas County last September to get away from Ian. Drove over to Ft. Pierce for 3 days. Then Ian came across the middle of the state like it was chasing me. It did so much flooding and downed power poles and trees that it took me 8 hours zigzagging to get back home instead of the normally 3 hour trip. No more going parallel or south for me! From now on I'm heading due north and staying in southern Georgia.
@TheNickhammond

Just go south east. That will keep it north if you.
Why does no one run the HAFS-B? What makes a model better than others?
Florida sure is having a rough time with those "I" storms this decade.
You are my favorite source when it seems like Florida might be impacted. Thank you. Also, in Florida, we pronounce the storm name like the onion, sans the V in front. (-'
U👍👍👍👍👍 Dr Levi C.
Damn, my ht at high risk again 👀 Thanks for the good info
Levi, how much can the full moon augment the storm surge potential? What other Hurricane on record made landfall during a full moon?
Ty for your report keeping us informed.could uou ple@e add closed captioning.i can barely hear you.ty. Keep up the good work🎉
Unfortunately Idalia is undergoing a rapid intensification cycle and has increased +20mph to 60mph. Now expected to be a hurricane by Monday afternoon.

Yeah. It’s looking fierce on IR right now. Might even have an eye in the morning.
Calm, cool, collected. Keeping an eye on this storm and will use it as a daily briefing for my family.
Crazy how fast hurricanes pick up warm air when they get over the Gulf Coast. Tropical Storm Idalia is supposed to land in Florida as a hurricane on Tuesday.
5pm update shift East
Thank you Dr. L 🙏. GO NOLES🎉🎉

Here we go again. I'm still finishing recovering from last year's hurricane.

You see I said last night I feel Idalia would be near Hurricane strength by tonight it is at 60mph!!
I think we are watching a monster being born in the Yucatán
@Tropical-Tidbits When you say "high ceiling" for Idalia, are you referring to the tropopause? Thanks for the updates as always!
@flangeinspector9959

He means its potential strength. There's little reason to think this won't reach Major status or rapidly intensify somewhere between here and Florida. Only that forecasters are sometimes hesitant to say that sort of thing.
@elizabethschneider297

@@flangeinspector9959 Thank you! I understand the predicament the forecasters are in, but there's very little reason to doubt this storm won't be strong, mostly because there's no land to interfere with it. I know they also have to be careful, because if stated the storm will be stronger than it is, it makes people complacent, but there still needs to be urgency. Situations like this will never get any easier. Thanks again!
Do you think there is potential for this storm to move east and hit Fort myers area again?
Merci beaucoup, even though I don't live in the area. But I RT this out, even though my tweets about climate and weather are throttled. Even though I have 2500+ followers, those tweets get often 20 views and if lucky one like. You offer a PSA, they should never be throttled.
Once it strengthens a cat 4 max look at Wht it can pick up
GOAT
You and reed timmer are the god of weather
Dr….. Can this storm turn more east as it strengthens? Isn’t that the nature of a storm?
We all know it will never hit around Tallahassee....🤔 I live in Ocala and DeSantis has declared State of Emergency but my county Marion is not included. Nor is any H warnings, h watches or even TS. 🤔 ????? Prayers for all in the path. I pray Jesus destroys this storm. Thank you Levi for such accuracy and details. You are my go to man for years.
Be a Hurricane by 5am
Still betting on Tampa. Of course, I've never won a bet in my life.
I'm honestly expecting central florida. This reminds me a lot of Ian where it slowly goes east each day compared to the previous run until it hit us dead on.

Thank You For the Data Dr. Levi! Might See Idalia Bee Another Fricking Ian. (Maybe) I Say Shaken By Ian...
