The government will need to act swiftly to clear up that debris off the flat bridge for those who must travel using that route. The bridge is definitely very strong. I don't think the river water would destroy it because it was very well built by our ancestors.

Thank God that the hurricane has passed Jamaica and did not make landfall. I am still praying for my fellow Jamaicans on the island to be safe, warm and dry as much as possible. I am giving thanks to God that none of my immediate family members has been hurt badly or homeless.

Flat bridge is STILL IN PLACE just covered with debris. Not gone. When there is flood that bridge is notorious for being covered with water.

Suggestion: Why don’t you check back in tomorrow with that same view cam you used and you’ll see that the water in river is drawn down and that bridge opened way back in 1770 is still there. My Jamaican friends and family said the hurricane was almost NOT. The eye was 60 miles from Jamaica. I am more worried about Florida than Jamaica since Jamaican houses are built so much better than homes in Florida!!
