Sukhoi Su-57 Су-57 "Felon", Russian Air Force, Blue 01, Russia, WLTK 1:72 Diecast Model Review

The Sukhoi Su-57 (Russian: Сухой Су-57; NATO code name: Felon) is a twin-engine stealth multirole fighter aircraft developed by Sukhoi. It is the product of the PAK FA (Russian: ПАК ФА, prospective aeronautical complex of front-line aviation) programme, which was initiated in 1999 as a more modern and affordable alternative to the MFI (Mikoyan Project 1.44/1.42).
Sukhoi's internal designation for the aircraft is T-50. The Su-57 is the first aircraft in Russian military service designed with stealth technology and is intended to be the basis for a family of stealth combat aircraft.
On 24 December 2019, the first serial Su-57 (bort number "01 blue") crashed 110-120 km away from the Dzyomgi Airport, Khabarovsk Krai, during the final stage of its factory trials due to a control system malfunction. The pilot ejected and was recovered by helicopter. According to TASS, the test flight took place at an altitude of 8,000 meters when the malfunction occurred, causing the airplane to enter a rapid spiral descent. When all attempts to stabilize the airplane into a horizontal flight using the manual flight control system failed, the pilot ejected at an altitude of 2,000 meters
Today's example is from WLTK. It is 1:72nd scale and made of diecast with plastic accessories. The model is of the Sukhoi Su-57 Felon from the Russian Air Force, Blue 01, Russia.

Hello again buddy. I have been toying with the idea of getting one of these but cannot ethically purchase a russian emblazoned model given what is happeneing in Ukraine. Seeings as Ukraine is unlikely to acquire these i probably wont get one. Yet again another great video my friend

Hey mate, I understand where you are coming from, haha. Although I don't let politics get in the way of a cool model for me. You could always code 3 it and put some other marking on it like they did in Top Gun Maverick, haha. Or you can put Ukrainian markings on it to be like it was a captured one 😉

@@RinsedCheeks I thought someone may bring this up🤣 Its why I don't have any views on what flags or markings are on a model, I just look at the model for what it is and all my reviews are politics free, haha. If people choose for whatever reason not to buy a model with a particular marking that is an individuals choice and I get that a lot with my Russian and Ukraine reviews because of that situation that is currently going on. Myself being of German heritage I like WW2 German things and often have been hit with the Nazi stick, haha because of that. I like the German stuff because of my own heritage rather than any political view but people do tarnish you with a label if you have an interest in WW2 German stuff!! Thanks as always for being a part of the channel!!

@@heavymetaldiecast yeah I was mostly asking out of curiosity, because the Russians and the Germans both have some nice aircraft which make for excellent models! If you exclude their models you’d would be losing out big time! I’m definitely no fan of the Nazi ideology, but I’ve always loved the WW2 German technology the most of the era. Can say the same for the modern Russians as well, when I was young the Mig-29 was my favourite aircraft (back when I knew nothing of the country). These days my favorite would have to be American fighters, but I I’m still a sucker for the Su’s and Mig’s as well as their attack helicopters.

@@RinsedCheeks all good on my end, haha. Your definately right though during WW2 the innovative creations that were thought up by German designers certainly make for some fantastic looking models. Post WW era certainly made for some interesting inventions too with Communist and Western ideals clashing. For me as a collector of models i feel the same, if you stop buying something because it may stand against your own views or what the subject stood for, then you do limit yourself from some really interesting subjects. I personally love the Su27 line and those Mi-24 Hinds are great looking beasts, although I am an Apache man, haha I figure it's safer to keep politics and religion out of collecting diecast for my own peace of mind 🤣. Personally I view the whole scenario currently going on as utter poop from both sides. Seriously seems to be just a drone war. How does the average war fighter prepare for that. All the training in the world won't save you from some Muppet flying a drone at you from a few miles away. It doesn't seem to be a very honourable way to battle. But that's just me and why I don't really talk about it. Anyway thanks as always for dropping past. 😀👍

Yes the model itself is not too bad. The ordnance is very cheap looking but the model is nice. Delivery method is a little average, haha. And being a third of the price tobthe Hobby Master ones is a bonus for some 😀👍

I didn't even know WLTK did a model of the SU57 in 1/72 scale! How is this compared to the Terebo model? All you need now is the Hobbymaster version to compare them all haha, I have both a HM version and Terebo version myself, might have to get this to compare all three myself.

I didn't either, I may have to dig out my Terebo one and compare. I do want to get a HM version but they are expensive probably around triple the price compared to these versions. I know they will be a better build, well they should be,haha. But I'm trying to workout are they triple the price better, haha. But I am hunting one, hopefully I find one discounted and then can get one to finally see if it's worth the extra coin 😀. Thanks for watching 😀
