    It's strange to see everyone making such a big deal out of Mike saying that he's sore. Of course you're going to be sore when you're in training camp, that's the norm dude.

    I honestly think it's a weird fight, and was made to make Mike look bad, but I hope Jake gets taught a serious lesson and he stops calling out retired fighters because its dangerous, it's unfair, it proves nothing, and it's just waving dollars in their faces for clout, and it's cringe. This is the so-called new generation who are supposed be training kids the disciplines of boxing according to Jake.

    Most of the time when someone has only been training 4 years then the trainer, even though being older, could still whoop the trainee. Now imagine the trainer is Mike Tyson.

  • @michaelscott466
    @michaelscott466Ай бұрын

    People keep bringing up Mike's lackluster performances in his last few fights, but at the same time, they neglect to mention some very important aspects of this. He was addicted to hard drugs, severely depressed, not training, and had absolutely no desire to be boxing. The only reason he was taking these fights was for the payday. What we witnessed at the end of his career wasn't because of degrading capabilities or lack of skills; it was for the above-mentioned reasons. Right now, Mike is taking this fight because he wants to fight; it's that simple. He wants to be the guy to beat Jake Paul; he has a desire to fight. This isn't something we've seen since before Mike went to jail, and I suspect we are going to see something really special. I think we might see the best version of Mike Tyson that we've seen since before he got locked up. We can talk about his age, but he is not your average 58-year-old man. He's a physical anomaly and has a better physique, more speed, and better power than a lot of professional boxers half his age. He's also pumped full of all the latest medical advancements and working with some of the best people in the world. Also, don't use the Roy Jones fight as a thermometer because that was an exhibition where they were not allowed to go for knockouts or even punch to the head in certain situations such as when up against the ropes. These things were literally in the contract, and when you rewatch it knowing so, everything you see makes sense. It was a light sparring match and nothing more. I have a personal sneaking suspicion that I have not heard one other person mention, I think Mike might be trying to pursue the heavyweight belt. I think he wants to be the oldest and youngest ever. I see no other reason why he would work so hard to get his boxing license back when he could have taken the easy road and made the same money with an exhibition fight. He also seems to be taking his fight camp awfully seriously; he quit smoking weed, and that's a big deal for him. He's training every day and not having sex... everything he used to do when he was passionate about boxing. We live in a strange world, so anything is possible! What do you think Sugar?

    Shane, it's great to see you doing this podcast and staying involved in the "sweet science". I think Mike will make pretty quick work of Jake Paul, in the ring, but if I could choose the former heavyweight champion I'd like to have seen fight Jake Paul, it would have to be Larry Holmes or Big George Fpreman. I just wish they were a little younger, where the fights could be made. '

    What pisses me off about Jake is that his lack of humbleness. He claims he respects Mike. But Jake wasn't even born in the 80's! He didn't live through Mike as he was the best and his eventual downfall. Jake only knows what he's told and I think he and his brother are disrespectful toward Mike. You don't call him OLD and you don't challenge older seasoned fighters especially if you're coming up in the game. Jake don't know Mike! He really doesn't based on his lack of experience and arrogantly protesting he got more power than Mike. I hope Mike teaches this young boy a lesson about respecting your elders.

    No he's not. He gave the fight 60 to 40 Mike. Peak Tyson was in the 80's. That fight would be something like 100 to zero. I agree Mike Tyson is not weak. Forget the age. His experience will keep him safe. 2 minute rounds please that's a cake walk. That favorites Tyson's style. Short burst. All he needs is a fast four punch combo. I don't think Jake can handle that. Boxing experience is weird. Experience boxers know how to absorb punches. Younger boxers usually get hurt. They have to be built up for that

    Analyze these young fighters and fights through your own lens. I noticed that even though fighters are supposed to know better they never ever use the jab enough. Conditioning is a bit more fluid than it used to be, which breeds inconsistency. Fundamentals always work.

    Yep, no is drilling footwork anymore or the jab like you said. Notice how sugar ray leonard and some older boxer used all the ring to their advantage to put themselves in an advantageous position while also using their footwork to put their opponent in a disadvantageous position. Nowadays boxers are pretty much content with being in the 50/50 (equal positioning) standing right in front of each other as if they don’t have an entire ring to utilize.
