I really loved this game, I finished it like 3 times. I thought it had a pretty decent combat loop, the first time I played I made the mistake of solely playing Elco cos the last boss Tai is forced to solo it haha. The game had a really great OST, New Brightwater has a fantastic vibe to it.

honestly, I would love a proper remake of this game, overhauled story, hoverhauled combat, overhauled a lot of things, and while I know it'll never happen I can dream XD

This game had some lumps, but it also had charm. It definitely has an incredible soundtrack that I still listen to today. Shame the game felt rushed together towards the end. I felt like there was a lot left undone.

Where we want to go in life with an anchor droping down the ocean ahead of our future determines where we row our oars today. Our future makes us a slave to this day. Best of no luck. Thanks Merry for our creeping on your vid to gripe. Love your whole Chanel. Just missing a few videos now of yours left to relish. Homicide of some carbs later.

Wait so... So they took their science-y, not religious/faithful character... and literally had god come down and laser-brainwash him into being a good obedient believer? Am I the only one who sees that as *incredibly* fucked up?

That's one way to put it, especially since God literally says "You can no longer refuse your destiny". The context is that the party discovers the truth behind the war, and Elco refuses to believe it so he goes back to the castle to work on the crystal towers. But uh oh, the queen then randomly reveals that doing so will revive the big bad, so... I guess that means the lady from the other world that he had no reason to believe was right all along? You can see the idea behind this plot thread, but it's executed very poorly. It's obvious that a lot of content was cut because this laser beaming comes very, very late in the game compared to the other 3 party members. Like, 15 minutes before the final boss late, so you barely get to use his new abilities.

@@MerryBytes _Big_ oof. Like, I get a character coming to realize that the thing they were working towards was a bad idea because they were misinformed or lacked certain information. But what does that have to do with free will/destiny? If you're some all powerful god, and this guy's problem is "You haven't provided me with sufficient evidence, just one person saying so" then it should be trivially easy to provide more evidence and convince the person. You might be able to guess from these comments that I have certain very strong views on religion :V

@@Shenaldrac I have a theory that Tetsu is only able to influence the characters in times of doubt and change for them. Up until the end of the game, Elco as an older character had no reason to doubt the way he saw things. He didnt bother trying to fight Buki about her beliefs, and the Realm of Shadows he probably boiled down as just alternate dimension nonsense (i havent played this game in YEARS, so i dont know if he actually addresses what he thinks). Its not until he sees it himself that the Queen is a fraud and the crystals are whats causing the chaos that he breaks and starts asking questions. As one of the four heroes, its literally just a matter of time before he has a confrontation with Tetsu, regardless of what he believes, because from what we gather from the intro of the game, combined with what we figure out in-game, the creation of Sudeki and the splitting of the worlds is NOT just a religious tale, its a real problem and one he unknowingly contributed to. I hate he how he only gets his Spirit Strikes and makes this realization that late in the game, it comes off as lazy and forced, but im giving the writers the benefit of the doubt because when you consider the journey's the other three have had, you just KNOW they didnt mean to do him dirty, it boils down to the development problems. I could go on and on about that, but thats another conversation.
