Honestly... despite the fact he called it efficient multiple times, this has to be the least efficient cyclops base I have ever seen. First of all, its already dumb enough to put a cell charger in a cyclops but 3 of them is just clinically wrong. Also, there aint no way nobody needs 3 battery chargers, 1 is more then enough. Then, what kinda psycho puts the bed into the main cabin thats just so astheticaly unpleasing. Then, as he said the potatoes are pointles, the coffe machine is pointless, all the random decos are pointless as heck, could have been replaced with storage. While Im at it, why does one need 4 chairs? Who you gonna sit with? Me, I, Myself and a fish? One is enough. Also the power cells should have been ion ones. Moving on the seamoth is completely pointless, as hes reasoning is that youre more likely to escape with it, which is not even true since a grapple prawn is a lot faster and has double the health, but also, If youre cyclops is going down, Im sorry to tell you but you might have a very minor case of a skill issue. Just use silent running and if you do get attacked, go max speed, turn up shield, and deploy decoy. The prawn is also a lot more useful utility-wise, and therefore is clearly the better option. And many more flaws, but I had enough. Yes, I am aware of the fact that nobody asked.

Honestly I’m really not big on the vending machines. They only give you like three food points per item… The water filtration is really good because it gives you 50 points per water. But the food thing with the vending machine is underwhelming. Honestly it’s faster for me just to catch and cook a couple fish when I’m hungry, and have a few fish stored onboard in case of emergency hunger. Like I guess the vending machine is fine to have, but it’s just not worth using it unless it’s an emergency

That's a very impressive base! I ran my own Cyclops as a quite minimalistic secondary base that was built to keep me alive indefinitely. In addition to a storage closet or two I had a power cell charger always charging another set of cells for replacing and a growbed full of Bulbo trees for water and Marblemelons for food. It served me well. I wish we had the new useful things that we got in Below Zero like the Recyclotron in the original Subnautica too; it would be so cool to build and use a completely mobile Cyclops base with all that stuff since the Seatruck doesn't support building stuff into it.

I don’t get why you would build a power cell charger in the cyclops. You’re just draining energy from your engines’ power cells to charge your power cells meaning you don’t actually earn any energy, it would be better to replace them with battery chargers to power your tools and just let the power cells be filled up by thermal vents

My Cyclops is pretty much always decked out as a resource transport. The Prawn suit is loaded in the bay for harvesting large resource deposits and the thing is packed with storage lockers in the fore and aft lower levels, along with more lockers along the top of the walls in the room where you load torpedoes and handle your docked craft. The bridge has a fabricator and scanner on the back wall, a radio next to the helm, and a medkit fabricator. The room behind the bridge has an aquarium for bringing back small specimins, and food production in the form of a set of planter pots with Lantern Fruit. Less nutritious than some options, but I value the convenience of not having to replant. The entry/exit airlock has lockers loaded with everything I need to make popup bases, so wherever I am, I can slap down a power station with a bioreactor and power cell charger, a scanner room for finding the resources I'm out here to find, and a moonpool with a modification station so I can customize my Prawn Suit on the fly. This setup has been great for when I've been building large bases in survival, since it can clear entire areas of the map of resources that I can then conveniently haul to wherever I'm building my proper base at.

I dunno if someone else commented this but I literally had the same thing happen to me with the loud banging, it's actually those little oxygen bubbles smacking into the Cyclops as they go up. Freaky stuff tbh 💀

Very nice vid. Great game to showcase. @0:45 Your first room is exactly the same way as I did it. But I actually put in a bit more right up to the wall edges. I am a crazy hoarder in games. Every ware else on the ship is cabinets and more wall lockers. Got my radio and wall fab up front in the cabin within reach on the left of the steering wheel. Back wall has two coffee makers. Crunchy coffee is the best. The space behind the big cabin wall hatch is a food grow bed and a plant pot for food. with a Mod table if needed. Every ware I can stuff a wall locker or cabinet there is one.

I do like what you have done, normally I would put the planter for the watermelons in front of the torpedo dock, and put the bed where the aquarium is but I do like the placing you had for the planter. It does seem to fit nicely in there. I still think the bed looks out of place there in the control room but other than that, looks great. I also wanted to point our how great the back of it is on the lower deck past the seamoth, I have never been able to find a use for that but that seems like a great place for battery recharge. Normally I'd put the battery's right next to the power cell locations in the engine room. But I really do like how you've done everything. Except for the bed but other than that, fantastic!

In normal conditions true, but if you get the thermal upgrade you can park over a thermal vent for a bit, charge everything to full, and then head on. Was useful during my big migration, I hung out in the carcass of an extinct ultraleviathan that had a geothermal vent growing under it. Powered down, lights off, recharged, trudged on
