Inspired by one of my favourite Creators, Kofuzi, I wanted to run another sub-3 marathon with my camera in hand to share the experience and struggle of running this distance. Running with my great friend Alex and some seriously inspiring athletes made for an incredibly special experience on Gubbi Gubbi Country / Noosa!
Whilst I was a little bit off my 2.55 goal, I'm so stoked with the ambition and determination I brought to the challenge. The result is simply a byproduct of an amazing journey and experience! In saying that, Strava gives me a 2:55 marathon PB as it was a long course - surely that counts lollll. What means more to me is that I was right up there and I gave a great account of myself on the day, I can't ask for any more than that.
I'll follow up with another video about my learnings from Noosa and what I intend to do better next time at a Marathon in the (very) near future... More to come on that one! Always humbled by the marathon.

    Mate, fully in awe of this. Especially getting yourself through the end bit. Brought the energy, kept it positive and a fantastic time. I'm a 3:23 marathoner but I'd like to think it's possible to go sub 3 one day. It's harder psychologically more than anything else, I think.

    Hey dude! Thank you so much it really means a lot to hear that. I have had to learn the hard way that the result doesn't actually matter and if I never go sub 2:50 that's all good - the important part is I applied myself and enjoyed the experience! 3:23 is a bloody fantastic marathon time though and of course sub 3 is possible man! If it's something you truly want to crack and you think you'll enjoy and grow whilst pursuing it why the hell not 💪

    well done mate! amazing effort. Have any of your previous PB efforts been a negative split?

  • @felixoates

    @felixoates

    Ай бұрын

    Thanks so much!! Appreciate you watching 😁 R.E the negative split - short answer: no haha! Not through choice lol I actually asked a bit of a running guru of mine about neg splits and I think it might be less common at the top level than what I previously thought - like did you race every km if you were able to do a negative split? That’s not to say you should go out too hot like me 😂 for the GC I will try to even up the splits with the aim of going faster but will still run ambitiously haha

  • @mimma2006

    Haha I know exactly… the struggle is real. I’ve never run a negative split marathon before. Only managed it for shorter distances.
