She has a setlist consisting of her best hits: 22, Look What You Made Me Do, Anti Hero, You Belong With Me, Shake It Off, and 40 other songs. It is over THREE HOURS! Trust us, it was a STELLAR setlist that gave a glimpse into every Taylor Swift era. But it got the Theorist gears turning. The meetings she has with advertisers and marketers is all about money and what they need to do to keep her relevant. What do woman absolutely love the most these days? Love and fashion, her and her team of experts have absolutely nailed it..She literally has major sitdowns at large tables of managers asking of ideas and what should be next and what their thoughts are on her next album..Theres ALOT to be unpacked here than just her putting on insane Super Bowl style concerts. Her and that whole team arent stupid.

I feel like Taylor is the only western artist that does what the kpop industry does. There's a story, there's eras, she even changes her look for every comeback. I think she is even one of the only who had a version of a light stick.

except that Taylor's music and storytelling are actually brilliant and have both styles and substances. Today's K-pop has beautiful visuals but the music is actually underwhelming. It's all noises with little to no lyrics on hooks. They focus too much on visuals and dancing that they forgot that K-pop is actually a MUSIC genre. This is why the 2nd generation of K-pop is the best K-pop era.

Taylor reminds me a lot of Bowie. Bowie changed his appearance and style with every “era” of his career. Both great poets and story tellers.
style theory’s videos just get more and more interesting titles. we went from killer heals to taylor swifts era tour
Matpat u forgot to talk about the 2 aesthetics of midnights: the 70s aesthetic in the album art that feels more like what taylor would be wearing in her everyday life, and the hollywood glamor of her public appearances. It gives the impression that her music and lyrics are the closest we will ever get to truly knowing her, and its genius tbh

Taylor swift is trash
what's so interesting about Taylor from lover to midnights is that those albums follow micro-trends that were at their peak when the albums were released without years later feeling dated. for example lover and the coconut girl aesthetic, folklore and cottage core, evermore and dark academia and midnights and the new anti clean girl aesthetic. considering that Taylor starts working on these albums months before they are released and the trend hits its peak (and in consequence because of how fast these aesthetics are introduced bc of tiktok), its like she's almost a forecaster (reminds me a lot of how in he early stages of her career she was the one of the only ones pushing for social media marketing)

Midnights was expected to have that theme because 70’s music was going crazy last year. From As it Was by Harry Styles, Lizzo’s album, Beyoncé’s album, Future Nostalgia by Dua Lipa, it’s like everyone was doing 70’s themed something so Taylor just joined in late in the year

The entire Swiftie community knows that she leaves clues and hints to future songs, albums subjects, tour dates, merchandise/ merch drops hidden in song lyrics, social media posts, videos years in advance sometimes. Nothing is accidental when it comes to Taylor swift and she's a master mind ;3 and I'm not alone in saying I love her music and that she's a lyricist genius!
My two fav things have come together, Game theory, and Tay Tay
As far as cults go, at least Taylor Swift is harmless.
I love how I can go from Style theory talking about the fashion of top celebrities to game theory where I can hear all about how every character I ever loved is a demon.
@guitarbass22
Жыл бұрын
And yet he NEVER quoted anything from Style! Missed opportunity. “We never go out of style”
So accurate! I’ve been thinking for a while about why Taylor is so successful and I think it’s 3 things: her songwriting talent, her personality and ability to connect with fans, and marketing (including fashion). It is the combination of these qualities that make her unstoppable! Her song writing may well be looked over if she hadn’t kept evolving and connecting with her fans
that intro was my life...... Thank you for finally making a Taylor Swift theory 😍😍😍
11:18 - She already had Gen Z as fans. I've been a fan since I was 6 years old in 2008.
Haven’t listened to Taylor Swift in over 10 years and was surprised I still knew lyrics to the songs brought up. What a throwback
"Meanwhile, the rest of team theorist over here are literally flying across the country to see Taylor's latest concert. Honestly, I don't know what is more surprising about that fact. The extreme level of commitment they have to see a concert, or the fact they have lives outside of their jobs. Note to self, deal with that one later." - MatPat, tyrant dictator of Theoryland

I'm interested in what the fandom reaction was when to Taylor's distinct change in style from Speak Now to Red - shorter straight hair, classic vintage outfits, etc. Did it feel like a natural transformation? Was there pushback?
She also does a bunch of Easter eggs that keep hardcore fans engaged. For example, the first song on the eras tour is Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince. This is the 7th song off her 7th album. Nobody could have guessed that she was hinting at the release date for Speak Now TV until it was released that it would come out on 7/7/23
"I will never change, but I'll never stay the same either." -Taylor Swift❤ I don't know whether all these genius changes were Taylor's idea or not, but either way, there's no doubt that this woman is SMART...or should I say, a MASTERMIND?😉And the thing about her authenticity is that it's still there, it doesn't seem like she's ever tried to be someone she's not. You may like her music or not, but you can't deny that she's ridiculously talented, tremendously creative, and simply BRILLIANT!!!!!!💕💕💕💕

Game. Film. Food. Style. Long ago, the four theories lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the style theory attacked. Only the Theorist, master of all four theories, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Theorist, a game theorist named MattPatt, and although his FNAF theory skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save the Theories.
I love the references it made me so happy!! ❤😂
I’m not really a swifty but I find her creatively interesting. Like a fascinating case study! You’re right, basically any creative has to do this to stay relevant. And for new creatives that feel stuck, I think she’s a great example to look at as guidance
I’m a new Swiftie as well, been listening since last year, and I’ve already preordered Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and went to her concert, which was my very first concert ever, and I was blown away by it and was surprised when one of the two surprise songs was one of my favorite songs. Taylor is, and always will be, the goddess of music.
9:16 I like how he calls her tay tay
I have an idea for a Style Theory video! Whenever we run out of hand soap, (The kind that comes in a bottle) my mom would always fill it with water instead of buying a new one, so I was wondering how many times you would've able to do that until all you got was water and no soap?
Theres more to it. Her music and the way she writes lyrics. She lays a bunch of easter eggs for fans to pick up whats coming next or even like placing her age, a month of the year etc in her songs is like her littering pieces of a puzzle about her private life that fans are willing to solve. It makes it interesting and exciting. Also the lyrics in her songs. For eg. She doesn’t say what she’s feeling in the songs she describes it. For eg. She doesn’t say she hates herself she says “Id rather stare at the sun then in the mirror.” Her writing is incredibly beautiful and you can see she takes inspiration from her favorite poets. I think its not just the fashion its also the song writing and her love life that make her interesting to fans and relevant.

Changing personas is one of the first things she ever did. You might have your nostalgia glasses on, since she even first addressed this in the end of her video for Look What You Made Me Do. Changing personas has literally never not been her brand. If you're looking for an artist more in line with authenticity than being a pop icon, then Lana Del Ray may be more up your alley, but let's call a spade a spade.

I’ve missed your videos so much!!
As a gen zalpha(i was born between gen z and gen alpha so 2012) I can confirm, we adore Taylor swift. And funny enough, my name is Era! Get it? Era, ERAS TOUR!? Cool right?
As a Swiftie, I agree that we are indeed a cult. 💜

The interesting thing about Taylor is how she reinvents but STILL feels authentic. She walks this razor thin line of staying true to herself while changing herself enough to stay relevant.

To be honest, although I completely understand the survival aspect of all the changes, the fact that it all aligns so carefully with pre-existing social media trends makes Taylor's reincarnations feel significantly less authentic to me...? 😔 Madonna seems a bit different in that although she was regularly changing her style, her choices were very individual ones (frrequently scandalous in fact!) and honestly seemed to set fashion trends for the current generations rather than following them?

Yes! I get it and I got it I could never put my finger on what it was but I always liked and never got tired if Taylor never being s fan but she was always there and I didn't mind it and liked her. No I now hoe she remained relevant and seeming real without being pathetic or normal or unnatural. She seems like Barbie to me. There's s new personality each album/movie but it's still Barbie.

Goodbye MatPat 😢😢😢
That intro was Oscar Award winning 😂😂😂
She understood that as a woman she had to change but made sure to do it on her terms. It's nice that ever since 2019 she's mixed in all the genres she's tapped into in albums. Her indie work has some country and pop elements while Midnight's made use of the indie and country sounds while staying pop. The outfits on her tour take you though her life and its why she is so successful. Sue will always have this friendship bond with her fans.

@A cute Lil' Mint Taylor's mother is literally only her manager for legal reasons lol, Taylor leads like all the decisions. It's why she left Big Machine, they didn't trust her with Red or 1989 but Republic let's her be her own person seeing as they didn't know about folklore or evermore until the week before they were released.
The intro is DEFINITELY going on my playlist

To go with Taylor’s Ester eggs the end where Taylor’s head was on the animatronic was an Ester egg of when 1989 was going to release on the same day as fnaf
You forgot how nice she is to her fans. She used to pick fans from the crowd and would take them backstage for her T-party. She literally invited her fans to her house for a listening session and baked them cookies. Add that to the fact that even though she changes eras, she makes references to her earlier albums, so everything is still connected.

I would say that the reason we all love our favorite creators is that we get to grow up with them. This is why the changes that creators make are so empowering.
