  • @chinueplayz8944
    @chinueplayz89446 ай бұрын

    Personally, I believe that Ruhl had been incredibly robbed in that 2004 Mr. Olympia. Some may mention the status of his physique, commenting on his proportions but most forget what era of bodybuilding Ruhl was in. All other competitors had much worse proportions, also the fact that they said Ruhl "wasn't big enough" is absurd. Fun fact though, Ronnie was heavier than Ruhl but that may be due to height difference, bone and/or muscle density, Ruhl looked much bigger. Another thing to note is that Ruhl lacked on triceps a bit and his back was somewhat underdeveloped compared to his front and looked way worse when compared to the likes of Ronnie. But that is something I note, most controversial Olympias at that time had people winning due to their back, for example Dorian and Nasser 1997, Nasser completely dominated from the front, yet Dorian still won because of his back (and because it was rigged). Another would be Kevin Levrone, losing against the likes of Dorian and Ronnie also due to the lack of back development compared to them.

  • @EyesackWorley

    @@ascadorcern6106 I can explain it for you: His conditioning was much worse than his competition, especially in the legs and back. His legs were extremely undersized compared to his upper body. His back was also really small. His triceps and forearms were also weak points. He was an exceptionally terrible poser, and looked awkward in all poses. Remember that he is going against prime Ronnie Coleman, who had the best back of all time, close to the best legs of all time, and was one of the most conditioned of all time. There is no comparison between the two, its not even a close matchup

    Favorite back exercise is easily hammer strength low row with the seat set way high up so you’re pulling up from a really low angle. I sit leaning forward and let my shoulders come forward at the bottom of the movement, and pinch my shoulder blades together at the top while pulling with my lats during the movement. Has had a huge impact on the appearance of my upper back/width. Don’t even have to lift super heavy just focus on the squeeze and blood flow.

  • @RickCarter-kb6vp

    You have to understand that bodybuilding since at least the mid 1960s. Through the 2000s has often been about marketability first, and secondly about who has the best body. Joe Weider was a marketeer not a trainer. When Scott retired Weider went to Europe, found his champion and brought him back to America and molded him into a champion. In terms of controversies, In 1975 when the producers of Pumping Iron made their docudrama they fabricated the narrative of Arnold vs. Lou because they knew as filmmakers that story would sell. In 1980 Arnold decided to compete again because after the success of Pumping Iron, he knew that he was on the verge of real stardom, and that winning a competition one last time would be a huge promotional boom. But what he failed to realize was that bodybuilding had really evolved in the five years he was away from the sport, and that several of his competitors had objectively surpassed him, and he wasn’t the top guy on the stage by some standards. That wasn’t going to work to his advantage at the box office so the fix was in.
