I haven't followed him closely, but I know he's had a roller coaster career, and I am glad to see a redemption story here - he didn't give up. Of course if they lose the next game, the haters will say that proves he still sucks, but I think he's already a winner this year. You have to have realistic expectations - last year, with Brady himself at the helm, they went 8-9 and lost in the first round of the playoffs.

The Watson deal is now almost certainly going to fail, and once it does there WILL be angry fan mobs looking for heads to roll! I believe that the Watson deal is very close to failing, either because a deep TB playoff run makes the mistake undeniable or because another serious Watson injury next season slams shut the window of opportunity for it to work out. Either way, once the Browns management is forced to concede failure all hell will break loose there, leaving a long list of tarnished and ruined reputations in its wake. Not to mention the Browns having no real choice but to go into total rebuild without significant cash or draft assets...

2 year 25 a season seems well workable for both sides. I was just talking with a buddy a couple weeks ago. If these top level qbs were smart they would take a team friendly deal around 25 instead of 50. So they can get some help. Brady laid out the blueprint for years. Yet everyone's worried about their pockets instead of championships. Really with that kind of money what diff does it make. Go win some games. * not saying baker is a 50mill season guy. Not most. Mike Edwards, Jordan Whitehead & Sean Murphy-Bunting in the secondary, JPP at linebacker & Suh up front are all gone. All those guys made big plays in the Super Bowl run. Devin White played out of his mind that whole playoffs but hasn't looked like that guy (with any consistency) since. BUT Jason Licht has done an incredible job in the draft finding new talent, and Bowles has been great at coaching them up. This is a young, hungry defense that wants to be great & isn't timid in the moments when they need to be great. As a Bucs fan, I'm very excited about Kancey, Diaby, and Izien. Even McCollum's development since last year has been strong. It's a bright future for the Bucs D. And this year's playoff run just might go longer than many think. Fire the cannons!!

5, 5 years in the league Healthy for 3 of those 2 playoff runs in 2 different divisions Is he really that worse than "The prince" or Jaylen Hurts? No, Baker Mayfield is a playoff level QB and his story is showing how the NFL has done a 180°. They made excuses for Trevor Lawrence and praised both him and Hurts for playing injured or when their team is disfunctional. Baker on the other hand? They almost pushed him out of the league. Glad to see him in an environment like that and with great talent surrounding him. Remember folks the Bucs this year have the most dead cap money in the history of sports(60mil) aka 30% of their budget, I mean come on! 99% of teams without a QB and with that salary cap would be tanking... Especially the Bucs, but no Tom Brady comes there and they immediately build a different culture than anybody else and now the laughing stock of the NFC is somehow a juggernaut. These last 4 years have been like a parallel universe 😂

I think the fact that he’s nothing like Brady has been a huge factor in his success. Any other QB who came in with the approach of “we work had, we strive for absolute perfection and we do things by the book” would’ve just ended up looking like a poor imitation of TB12 - there’s not a signal caller in the world who could bring what Brady brought to the team, whether that’s on or off the field. Baker being an excitable and unpredictable improviser who is very visibly driven by his emotions basically resets the identity of the team. Brady’s professionalism brought the very best out of the players as a unit, but Baker’s passion brings the best out of his teammates as individuals, incentivising them all to give their all on every play the same way he does.

The three things I felt strongly during the game: -Continually impressed by Bakers toughness and willingness to work with his team. He took some real pressure up the middle and was clearly hurting, but still worked hard late as if the score was much closer. His sideline engagements on bad drives and drops by receivers, bad blocking up the middle by teammates, how he handled all that positively by keeping his teammates engaged stood in stark contrast to: -Hurts being on the bench end by himself. I was unexpectedly highly disappointed by how he was the FIRST person to RUN out of that stadium while one of the greatest Eagles ever, Kelce, stayed behind to shake hands with the few Eagles fans willing to stick around as yet another stark contrast. I don't like to overthink this normally, but I was very unimpressed by Hurts as a result of this contest for the aspects off the field/sideline moreso then any struggles on it. That was not a good look for him. -The Eagles defense, with the game still in the balance collapsed. We can absolutely put blame on the Eagles offense for especially getting nothing done on 3rd down. But there was a point in the game where it just started to unfold, where runs that should've been no-1 yard gains became much more then that, the edge of the defense losing contain. Appalling tackling efforts. I don't know what else to say because it really just looked that bad once the second half got underway. Can't imagine how dispiriting this once promising season ending was for Eagles fans.

The Bucs can win next week, IF they play a clean A-game, no ball drops or INTs, and Baker drops dimes like he did last night. The defense can thrash and pressure Goff like no tomorrow, and that will create INTs for the Bucs to take to the house.

Baker needs to be around 100 million. The jones contract is absolutely retarded. They fumbled the bag giving that man that much money after just one good year. I hope we can extend baker for 1 more year at like 25 million to prove he’s worth the elite qb contract instead of just one season. Thats where teams eff up. I mean look at Daniel jones, the cowboys are screwed bc they gave dak like 60 million a year with a bunch of it guaranteed and a no trade clause. They’re basically stuck with him for now but he can’t win a playoff game

@@brandonstephens1447 It doesn't matter for QBs weather they "fumble it" or not. The market is set. The exception is Desean Watson. But a starting QB in the NFL will get $160M...may not be all guaranteed but that's easy for Baker. He's won TWO playoff games & every QB with that resume makes more money. It's not just one year, he did it at Cleveland so he's already proved himself. No way in hell he signs a one year deal.. That's comedy
