Good for Baker. I'm glad he's doing well. I'm neither blindly for, nor blindly against the man. It's great to see a player who believes in himself.

To see Baker unceremoniously thrown away by the Browns brought back the pain of seeing Bernie thrown away by Belichick. That was the last straw for me, and nothing would make me happier as a former passionate Browns fan than to see Baker get to the Super Bowl and land a contract with Tampa. I'm indifferent to the Browns now which is such a relief... no more Grossi, no more Mary Kay Cabot. I do watch games but I have zero emotional investment. I care WAY more about the players the team has wronged.

Couple of points. When you take into account teams over 500 during his time at the Browns, how many of those did he put up like 35 points and still lose? I remember the Ravens game he played and dropped like 42 points and we lost. When you list the TEAM's win loss record like it's Baker's win loss record alone you remove any blame from all the other reasons the Browns lose and act like Baker cost us those games. How many years have we been bottom 5 when it comes to penalties that keep opponents drives alive and kill ours? Freddie Kitchen season was an absolute train wreck for that. Felt like every single drive got killed by a holding or false start. And when the defense those years turned into a free pass turnstile you start playing from behind having to force crap. The Browns were bad those years and while Baker wasn't great, they certainly made him look worse. Changing everything about his offense like 5 times while he was here probably didn't help anything either. All I am saying is that you simplified this to a stupid level putting it at one players feet.

It takes a team to win football games. The quarterback doesn’t have a magic wand to waive a win. He needs help from his running backs, he needs his receivers to get open and actually catch the ball. I watched many a game where Mayfield would throw strikes and many were dropped. Tone it down? Unacceptable. John Manziel was squelched as well. As far as I’m concerned, the current Browns is where good quarterbacks go to die. Every draft quarterback should avoid the Browns like the plague. I’ve been a Browns/ Steelers fan since 1961. I can still remember #32 (Jim Brown) bruising his way down the field. This Browns team isn’t even a shadow compared to the real Browns who now reside in Baltimore. Not worth watching or supporting anymore. Firing good coaches isn’t going to help matters either.

The overweight guy should focus on his health instead of Baker Mayfield's stats. I doubt he's ever played football. Here's a stat for the Browns - the all time franchise leader in passer rating with at least 25 games played is BAKER MAYFIELD. So - if those 4 years with Baker were not good, then that means the franchise is putrid. Stats are stats. Baker had 1 bad season in 2019 with Freddy Kitchens and by Browns standards, that was above average for the QBs since 1999. In 2018, rookie record for TDs. In 2020, great season. In 2021, good season with 17 TDs, 13 Ints playing with a broken shoulder. The browns win totals of 7.5, 6, 11, and 8 were the best run of victories for any QB in franchise history since 99, and he did it with 4 different head coaches. Hope he wins it all and rubs it right in Browns face. Make no mistake about it, Cleveland fans are rooting for him.

Baker's first season was great for a rookie, even more considering the horrible record of the Browns under Hue Jackson. Second season of Baker, he made a big mistake... he supported keeping Fredy Kitchens instead of bringing Kevin Stefanski for the job. Third season, first of Kevin Stefanski, Baker was great again. But Kevin Stefanski would never forget that Baker preferred Freddy than him. So, on the next season, he made Baker look much worse than he was. He not only made him play hurt, but he asked Baker to try plays that would be very difficult and lead to a ton of interceptions. With that in hand, he turned the fans against Baker and did the "brilliant" trade for DW. Baker was sent against his will to Carolina. How did Carolina went this year with a number 1 pick? Worst team of the league. So, if you want to have clarity of Baker's career, you should not consider 2019, 2021 and the half of 2022. If you look at his numbers at 2018, 2020, the Ram's part of 20222 and 2023 with the Bucs, you can see the real Baker. I wonder how good would Mahomes be with Freddy Kitchens, Hue Jackson or at Carolina intead of Andy Reid and the KC crew.

OBJ gets injured? Presto, Baker is good again and he's the first Browns QB since forever to win a playoff game. Funny how that works. You can tell this is personal to Bull because he misguidedly declared Mayfield a bust and sided with the Watson deal and now he's desperately trying to convince himself and us that he was right. He has no credibility with his position because he dismisses all the bad coaching, the constant coaching turnover and system changes, the major injuries Mayfield fought through, how bad the talent was when Mayfield got there, the losing culture, the ownership disfunction, the weather, etc. etc. I don't understand how he still has a media job. Hate blinds you morons. I can put together stats to make any player sound bad if I hate them enough. But you CAN’T discount the fact that Baker NEVER got to become comfortable under any system because it changed every year. But your hate for Baker will never allow you to understand that. Hate makes you stupid.

What's the big deal about Baker Mayfield winning last nights game? The NFC South is the worst division in football. Baker's ceiling is limited, you'll see next week against the Lions.

Some of you lot, Bull included, need to look at the record of STEFANSKI as well. V teams with winning records and also when the team are behind by 7 pts and esp 10. You make out these things are all qb based. Far from it.

Baker has grown but he’s still a middling starting QB that will not lead a team to a Ring. He could be pulled along by a great cast and have great moments. The Browns missed so far on Watson but he still gives you a better chance than Baker though not by much. Browns were right to move on from Baker regardless of the errors since.

Until the Browns win a playoff game, Baker will forever live rent free in your head for all you haters OSU fans. DW played 6 games each year in two years making $230M, then a backup old QB took you to playoff. I can imagine what his teammates will think of him in the locker room come next season. I will continue to enjoy the stain of NFL and the shit show. For a team that last won division title in 1989, you keep dreaming about a "Superbowl level" QB and no QB is good enough for you. It's just too funny outside looking in. And now you a broke as f* to even get free agents.

Watson will more than likely gone from Cleveland this time next year and that's to long for the diddler,. Look up the word it basically means sexual pervert but he's African so you love him

If Baker stayed last year the browns would have gone to the playoffs again. Baker took the browns to the playoffs, the next year he was hurt and didn't play well -should have been sat until he healed. they let him play. The following year they get rid of him but he was healthy and i would lay odds he would have kicked ass last year. the browns were stupid to let him go. He would have had a bit of consistency with coaches and players and chemistry as well. Go Bucs.

I blame the Browns from moving on from Baker. It was clear after 2020 who he was when healthy and not chained to a terrible offensive scheme/headcoach. He got hurt in 2021, and they gave the farm to sexual predator who hadn't played in 2 years and has been miserable in his limited play since then. They absolutely made the wrong call. I said it when it happened, and I'll say it now.

Keep on lying to yourself. Baker DEMANDED a trade as soon as they talked to Watson, like that day. If he would have been a grown up, he would have swallowed his pride, and when Watson said no initially they probably would have signed him to an extension. Like 6 teams tried to get Watson the year before, and Miami had a trade in hand. Last year 5 other teams were willing to give up the picks for Watson. How many other QBs demanded trades? Why do people like you stick up for the immature, insecure diva?
