The actual “negotiations” remain known only by the family, but it is believed that the show and Michael Astar (Angelina’s manager) agreed to let her perform (and compete) with the stipulation that Angelina would not be required to sign a contract binding her to Simon’s production company. This normally is not permitted of contestants. This arrangement was beneficial to both the show and Angelina. Keep in mind, this contractual stipulation is *only a rumor* and has never been verified by either of the parties involved.

Astar says that it didn’t matter if you get exposure or not, it was out of question to give away that right. “Some time passed and they again contacted me, asking if she wanted to sing on their show. I convinced them to give me a contract where Angelina is free from any deal if she performs, she is great for their TV show and Angelina will get the exposure she needs to breakthrough, because I knew, the talent is one of the kind like no other, I just needed her to be seen and was on a daily hunt for how to get the right spot for her in the USA.”

The most mesmerizing performance I have ever heard ❤ Queen themselves shared this performance on their socials, saying Wow, what a rendition ❤ That is a huuuge compliment 👍

The show had tried to get her on their show for at least two years before this appearance because she was already internationally known. Simon Cowls company Syco had each participant sign a contract that stated that they would be signed to Syco if they won. Angelina and family would not sign that contract as she had many offers already and her family did not need money. America's Got Talent was aware of the ratings that would result from Angelina appearing on their show so they eventually relented and allowed her to appear without that contact. What that did was assure that she would not win because Syco would not have an Artist to record for an entire year. She is signed to Republic Records since she was 14. It has been a very good fit for her and her family. Republic recently built Angelina her own recording studio. They know what this young lady represents in the future.

Angelina was able to strip down this song so much and give such an emotional feeling to the lyrics and more importantly to her audience by this masterful performance. Angelina has a reputation for transforming covers into something totally different and this song is a perfect example. Brian May and the other remaining members of Queen were so impressed- they retweeted her video and “gave” her the copyright to her version. One of my favorite transformations by Angelina is when she performed a tribute to Avicii (Tim Bergling) shortly after his untimely death. If you are familiar with his song “Wake Me Up”… his version is a sort of anthem that celebrates the “iconoclast” - the person that dances to the beat of a different drummer. In Angelina’s tribute to Avicii, she drastically changes the tempo of the song and creates a lament, dedicated to the remembrance of her dear friend. I recommend to all who are not familiar with Avicii’s song to check it out (reacting to his version might create copyright problems however and I don’t recommend it). I believe you have already been given much information by us Angels since last time including why she sings barefooted. So all I'm going to say is enjoy the ride and hope you would become an Angel

The living members of the Queen noticed this performance and they were quite impressed and told it in social media. And this performance led to Angelina's current deal with Republic Records because after this performance was aired the Norwegian very high profile music producers Stargate (two producers living in LA who have worked with many superstars) contacted Angeilina and they suggested that they would like to produce an original song for Angelina. They did "Million MIles" and after they had done that one of the Stargate procuders went to Republic Records and presented the song straight to the CEO of that record company. After that the CEO of Republic Records personally signed the deal with Angelina and her family. And Angelina was 14 years old when that happened. Some people claim that during AGT Simon Cowell had offered a Sony Music record deal for Angelina but there would have been too little freedom for Angelina and her family to decide on anything so they would have turned that offer down because of that. I don't know if that is true or not.

A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on KZread. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. I was very impressed with your reaction. Angelina is in a class by herself. She can sing and can accompany herself on piano and guitar. I love her performance of “Wicked Game”, where she transmits deep heartache.

You can't go wrong with Angelina. I love them all. Right now I have deeper feelings for her version of "Moon River," which is short, simple, and devastating. Also, her voice lifts in the choruses of her versions of "Funny Valentine" and "Suspicious Minds" still give me shivers after dozens of listens. But next week it might be her version of "I'd Rather Go Blind" or Adele's "Million Years." She does Adele better than Adele and causes me to wonder what Adele thinks of her covers.

Most of the Angels could give recommendations of more than 200 songs so it is hard to pick out even a couple.

AGT Simon First, and foremost; Angelina was not on that show to win. This was quite simply to promote and expose the US public to this prodigy that comes along maybe once in a generation. To win, AJ’s family would have had to sign a contract with Simon, and he would have been in control of her future. Her family would not allow that to happen. It was not question of money offered because AJ was already worth 2 to 3 million at the age of 13, and her family are very wealthy. I am sure America’s Got Talent was paid well by her production company Stargate, the hitmaking duo (Beyonce, Rihanna, Sam Smith). David Foster tried to sign her in the past after she won Norway's Got Talent, but the family did not like the contract. She is like nothing we have ever experienced. Great to see you back!! I saw your eyes tear up a bit and I had to smile, it happens STILL to those of us who fell in love with her back when she was a 7yr old. Now, an 18 yr old young woman, she still can wrench our hearts with amazement and pride...a couple of weeks ago (she FINALLY got a gig in Las Vegas) she performed in her first official concert!! And she did not disappoint!! People from around the world showed up to see her. Her mother Sara, produced a mini documentary of Angelina's musical journey (that began at 1 1/2 yrs old) to her prepping for her concert. It's called "10 Years in the Making" you can find it easily on KZread or her sites. There's SOO much to learn and hear about this child prodigy who has grown into one of the most RARE voice in a most RARE loving human being. I'm glad I got to see you return for more and hope to see you on the flipside once again!! PEACE!!

Angelina, well protected by family, refused to sign Syco's (Simon's) cloying music contract as labels had already been after her since she was 7 (see Summertime, I Put A Spell On You, Feeling Good). Two more prodigies trained from early childhood are Dimash Kudaibergen and Diana Ankudinova. Diana, true dramatic contralto with polyphonic overtones, "Queen Of Goosebumps," > Can't Help Falling In Love, Wicked Game, +++. Dimash, the "King," 7+ octaves, multiple instruments. 15+ languages, degrees in classical and contemporary, PhD in composition > SOS, Stranger, ++. Jaw-droppers all. The "prodigy trifecta." Thanks for your reaction and I wish more people would listen to new artists. I clicked on a Angelina video 4 years ago and the quality of my life has improved more than I can express. Her music, along with her message of kindness and love, have given me HOPE for a better future. I continue to listen to new artists and found one other new favorite, The Warning, a hard rock power trio of three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. The sisters are currently ages 24, 22 and 19 and about to release their 4th album. I love every song off their first 3 albums. Thanks for the great reaction! There's tons more Angelina on her YT channel, over 200 videos! It's hard to know what to recommend next. Maybe her Norway's Got Talent performances (Gloomy Sunday was her audition piece and Summertime was her winning final). But jump in anywhere. Angelina is always better than you expect, even when you expect it.

Maybe it is worth to watch the KZread documentary "Angelina Jordan - 10 years in the making" (even when you find it to long to react on it). It is produced by Angelina's mother Sara Astar, and it gives a nice look behind the scenes. Even though she is only 18 she already has a wonderful career to look back at.... And te good thing for everybody is that a lot is recorded on video and available on KZread. most of the recordings are made by Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani.

Angelina did not win the 2020 competition, because she didn't want to sign a contract with Simon's company (standard AGT fare), opting instead to sign with Republic Records that fall. RR offered her "favorite new artist status", musical autonomy and most importantly, too Angelina and her family, to wait until after her HS graduation to start her "professional career" in 2023. Angelina's release of her "Old Enough" EP marks that milestone. Her recent Las Vegas concerts were "dipping her toe" into the concert touring waters, which will hopefully afford us years of her amazing gifts. The members of Queen praised Angelina's rendition on their social media site and gave her permission to copyright it. As amazing as Angelina's voice and musical talent are, Imho her greatest gifts are her humble humanity and showing the world how to be a better place.

She didn't win because she refused to sign with Simon. Ironically the top 5;all signed with him. That's why I don't like these talent shows. It did give her great exposure. Had 75 million hits until AGT ( Simon took it down) as if today still gets recognized with over 100 ,million views

Her agent, uncle Mike, negotiated to not sign the standard, required boiler plate contract with Freemantle Media, owner of the Got Talent franchises. Simon is no longer associated with Freemantle except as a contracted talent. His talent agency has no influence on who appears on or wins this show, only about half of whom are musical acts.

Or perhaps 1/2 Persian. Some say her maternal grandfather is Japanese, but in the photos I've seen and discussed with others he does not look Japanese at all. Perhaps he also is of Persian descent...we do know that he and Mery raised their children Sara and Michael in Japan for at least part of their childhood. Let us know if know any more about his ancestry.

Her parents turned fown signing eith Simons label Psycho. They had already turned down a stream of labels including Disney. They only agreed to sign with Republic Records when she was 14 because they agreed not to push her out till she finished school.

phs I hope you appreciate this one!....As a filler, or to signal "getting back to the point", for example, people might say or write "anyways", sometimes "anyway". Thinking, perhaps, that it's perceived as cute or hip, they might use "anyhoo" instead.....People might say "I don't give a hoot", instead of "I couldn't care less". But no one would ever use "anyhoot"! No such word/expression.

Tbh I was aware of all this, but I have seen the expression "anyhoot" a few times, and for some reason I find it kinda shick😂 So I have been using it on a few occasions, but I would never use it in a more "solemn" or "serious" setting than in the KZread comments section😉 Now I guess I'll just skip it altogether🤣 Anyhow, thanks for the comment, bud. Love the official video, but the performances from Norway in the summer of 2022, when she was missing the presence of grandma Mery due to hospitalization, brought out even more raw emotion int the song and are the personal favorites of myself and legions of fans.
