Angelina was actually 8 years old when she won the final tally on Norway's Got Talent, but one could make the argument that she's not lying, because she really won it upon her audition, with Gloomy Sunday, and with her acapella version of I'm a Fool to Want You, backstage in an elimination round, without audience.

It took Angelina the better part of 5 years to master her voice to make the sounds she wanted. It wasn’t so much imitation when she was younger, and when you see her progression on Norway’s Got Talent, and her performance of “What a Difference a Day Makes” and “I Put a Spell on You”, you will see she had to do certain things to make the sounds when she was younger that she doesn’t have to do anymore, this is very apparent when you listen to the 8 year old version of “Fly Me to the Moon” versus her 13 year old version she made for Quincy Jones at his 85th birthday celebration at O2 arena in London, and her two versions of “My Funny Valentine”, the first when she was 10 the other this year at 16. She has done many amazing performances since and is still getting better all the time. Quincy Jones asked her to sing in his 85th birthday party in the O2 arena and compared her to Michael Jackson. At AGT you see her wearing the suit she made herself using a print with her grandmother's art, performing barefoot singing her own arrangement. She is a storyteller at heart and captivates her audience. As soon as she starts singing everybody goes dead silent. She recently met Jonathan Sugarfoot Moffet, MJ's drummer, and sang a jazzy version of Billie Jean and I Have Nothing for him and he loved it. She has a very versatile voice, a very rich vocal toolbox and a wonderful lower register. She goes as low as C3 and D3. You can only expect to be surprised each time :-) The reason she sings barefoot is wonderful. At age 6 she met a poor street girl with scars on her feet. This is a great pair of videos to some sense of how deep the talent runs with Angelina. As you noticed, she adds lots of little ornaments into her vocals. I am very, very touched by the mini bio you shared regarding Angelina Jordan. I was unaware of all she gives and does, she is certainly not your average 13 year old, her maturity is well above her age I came upon the video of her singing NGT by accident one day while surfing you tube and as I never heard of her before, began to listen to this 13 year old girl, I was stunned. Her voice had such depth and was filled with such emotion of almost despair as I could literally feel, visualize the words she sang. This is a song of sadness as the young person realizes that the action they took will now cost them their own life.... Angelina expresses that sadness, awareness marvelously, bringing the listener into the story within the song. She is a great joy and her voice a huge gift to us all. Thank you, Angelina for sharing your gift and showing us all to be a part of the talent Good had surely blessed you with!!!

Bohemian Rhapsody by AJ has over 100 million views, this is a classic that will stand the annals of time. If you follow this genius, she will amaze you with every performance. She now has over 3 billion views on Facebook, and over 1.5 billion views on KZread. There is no one else like her in the universe.

The remaining members of Queen were so impressed with Angelina's version of Bohemian Rhapsody at 13 that they allowed her to copyright her version - as a result - it is on several streaming music services and she gets the royalties.

So glad you have a good eye and ear for her expression and not only for her technique (like some voice teachers). We all know that she has a beautiful voice and wonderful musical and vocal skills, but her connection with the words is that from a big actress saying a monologue! And on top of all of this she has such beautiful taste in her pronunciation and runs. For many people she is a comfort and mysteriously addictive! (Like me!)

Amongst all of Angelina Jordan performances, her black & white studio cover of Screamin Jay Hawkins' 1956 hit, "I Put a Spell on You", will absolutely knock you out cold. At 9 years of age, the cover she arranged (Angelina has arranged her own music/lyrics from the age of 7) pays homage to Jay, creating what many consider to be a masterpiece cover. Angelina never repeated this performance, owing to it's elements, so be sure to watch the b&w video from her official channel or her official cover channel. If you're looking for another 2 for 1, I would follow this up with her live performance of "Feeling Good", a 1964 classic that Michael Buble has made one of his cornerstones. I suggest watching the performance in front of a live televised audience. She has repeated this cover, but I really like this one. At 10 years old, Angelina knocks it out of the park. She was amazing at 13, but you should hear her today at almost 17 (Jan 10th). She has increased her range, power & control, especially in the last 2 years since she signed with Republic Records. Her 2 latest original songs, Million Miles & 7th Heaven were performed in her summer concerts last July in Norway. A TV show recorded both as well as a little behind the scenes footage with Angelina. The same proud emotion you get with your children, you’ll get with Angelina. as much as I love her voice, she’s a better big sister, and daughter then singer. Actually, I think she did surprisingly few Billie Holiday covers: 1. Gloomy Sunday, 2. I'm a Fool to Want You' 3. 'All of Me', and latest 4. 'Blue Moon', but that one only as a short 40 second snippet on TikTok. Compare that to e.g. 11 different Adele songs, or 7 by both Elvis and Sam Smith each.

@@alberttenfoot I'm happy that you like my channel. I actually reactivated and dedicated it to 'AJ Playlists' only about 2 or 3 month ago, so you did not miss out for long. But I don't think that KZread does sent notifications for new playlists, so you will have to check manually from time to time! But the structure is quite complete now, so I will now be more curating the existing lists rather than to create new ones anyhow.

Love your reaction and analogy between the two songs. Angelina gets better with age and experience. You will be floored as you progress with her if you continue this rabbit hole. She did My Funny Valentine at age 10 and another at age 16 if it interest you to do the same. Thank you Dr.

This performance is the first time I saw this girl and I have been in love with her every since.

Often forgotten is that English is not her first language, that is Norwegian. So the ear she have for tone and timber also work for her in learning to sing the English words in the first song. At age 13 she have mastered both speaking and writing English. Her original song "A Million Miles" is a good example.

That vibrato is unbelievable. The jazz technique is undeniable and breathtaking for an 8-year-old as well as someone 20 years older. Phenomenal!

Well done. She is now 16 years old. For more recent performances, I'd recommend her own originals Million Milles and 7th Heaven, which she released about a year after the AGT performance. Both are also available as a "Live in Studio" version. The Norwegian Jazz-saxophonist Bodil Niska, had a wondereful recordshop and jazz café in Oslo. It was called "bare jazz". The first time I saw Angelina and her mother at Bodils place, she was probably a 3 year old child with enormous headphones listening to the old masters of jazz. It looked like the world outside music did not matter.

Thanks for such a wonderful review of a wonderful person. No need for me to suggest more videos of her, as others have done so. I have listened to nearly every youtube video this superb artist and her family have made. Early on I added a live concert to my bucket list and flew from the USA to Norway to witness her July 10, 2022 concert. I have never witnessed a more inspiring story-teller, and I am fast approaching my eighth decade on the planet. AJ has a bright future and my only regret is I will only witness a fraction of her career.

Hello, Dr. Marisan. This has become my favorite rendition of the song, "Fly Me to The Moon." And then age 13, Angelina blows us away with her own rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody. She has grown so much as an artist--vocalist and composer. She got Heidi Klum's golden buzzer, sending her straight to the finals. So this year 2022, Angelina Jordan is 16 yo, and there is a dramatic difference in her voice, as you might expect. She dropped formal music videos this year AND was able to return to Norway for concerts this summer for the first time since Covid shut everything down. The music videos since she signed with Republic Records at age 14, after this AGT Champions show, have been gorgeous at every level imaginable. Before going to age 16, you might want to hear her black and white music video of her original song, "Million Miles," written after the passing of her maternal grandfather. Then maybe pick from this year 2022. I'd go with her Elivis cover, "Suspicious Minds," or her Whitney Houston cover, " In those you see her singing. THEN do at least one live from this summer. Do pay attention to fan recommendation of which videos to use, because some are better sound than others and you'll truly want one with better sound. Angelina is such a beautiful human being in all aspects. In "other words" , young lady, we all love you.

I will suggest to you to go back in time and listen to her singing in a studio at 6 " I who have nothing", then her 4 performances at NGT when she was 7 and won when she was 8 : 1st one " A Gloomy Sunday", 2nd " I'm a fool to want you" acapella, 3rd " Bang Bang " and last one " Summertime". Then there is a live performance at 8 " What a difference a day makes " at 9 " I put a spell on you". Then you can pick and choose between about 200 more covers and own songs. If you listen to her cover of " Million years ago" after listen first to Adele singing it, you will realize she did it at 12 with more feeling/ soul and richer tone than Adele.

To me, her magic is really what you said--she's able to interpret songs in a deeply meaning way with songs that she shouldn't really be able to understand, but somehow does.
