This car is the true meaning of mucsle car. This is a mucsle car not a sports car as so many get it confused. My dad had a 1967 impala true super sport 396 bb. Wen he floored it the whole car would raise up from the torque even at 100 mph lol. Such a beautiful car they don't make them like this anymore. im glad and fortunate I experienced riding in classics like these. An experience I'll always cherish.

Great video, and the '70 Chevy Chevelle SS is a muscle car in its own right and always will be plus to see it in the fast and the furious is just insane, great job and keep it up.

I went to Watford College England in 82, one of my friends there ended up with a 396 70 Chevelle in red with black stripes, I ended up with a 70 GTO Judge, miss those far off days and this channel remember the good old days, Best wishes to yourself,family,friends and fellow viewers and my ol friends from Watford College ❤❤❤.

GM hit it spot on. Luxury doesn’t mean horse power. The 70 Chevelle or 396 & 454 from GM gave us options. With SS 396 or 454.Paint options. LS6. They nailed it with the 70 Chevelle

the 70 GSX 455 was a faster car by about 1/10th a second.... Yes, my first car was a 70 chevelle

I have a 72 I love my beast 502 bb

I HAD A 70 LS6 4 SPD BACK IN 1977. FOREST GREEN/GRN INTER. . ALL ORIGINAL. RAN 14.5 IN THE QTR. CAR WAS BIG AND HEAVY AT 3400 PDS +. I ALSO HAD A 64 GTO COUPE 389 3X2 4SPD 331 POSI. IT RAN 12.5'S ALL DAY LONG. IT WEIGHED 2995 PDS. LOT FASTER THEN THE SS. BEAT EVERYTHING I WENT UP AGAINST.

There's no way a stock GTO runs mid 12's or even low 13's. Nice fantasy. Also, tons of road tests document stock LS6 Chevelle's routinely running in the 13's. You sir, are not exactly credible.

​@marcusevangeliste7426 The 1970 Chevelle in my garage is 48 48 code Forest Geeen 350. Soon to get a new engine , tranny , and change gears in rear-end. It has 411's.

Best - Looking 1969 - 396.

Bullshit....396 was 375 gross horsepower which is only 305 horsepower NET....big deal. 2023 Camaro with V-6 puts out more at 335 net Goober.

interesting video, entertaining, but, some fact checking would help with the information provided. I thought the 396 turned into the 402 in January 1970....early production cars were legit 396 engines...just as one example.

I think insurance had something to do with keeping it under 400 ci I had a 65 gto and the insurance company tried to charge me more and I had to prove it was a 389

Insurance costs are also very expensive.

375 horsepower GROSS in the 396 is only 305 horsepower net.......any 2023 Camaro with V-6 is more at 335 hp net. ALL engines before 1972 were OVER RATED using GROSS dyno numbers that were banned after 1971.

Why keep periodically showing a modern state of the art engine when referring to 396/402? Idiotic

@@qmusclecars you periodically show an engine with a large flat composite covering. Looks like an engine with fuel injection, and is definitely not a factory 396/402.
