Groan - equity in cricket wicket deliveries..... Let's face it, women's cricket is about the level of club cricket - so doing 50:50 men's and women's wickets just is like mixing test and club cricket.

IMO the E&WCB does women's cricket a disservice by playing mans cricket so close to the women's version. The general standard of particularly Australian and English women's cricket has clearly elevated leaps and bounds over the last few years, but the men's and women's games are in no way comparable, therefore it is best not to so directly compare them. The standard of women's bowling at the highest level is not even comparable with most male Saturday league sides and the batting is even less so. If Jimmy Aderson faced the best England women's cricket could offer even he would average at least 50. Cricket is a play-off between the skills of the bowlers and that of the batsman. If the bowling is crap the batsman looks good and visa-versa. To a large extent, pace bowling is only effective at taking wickets when it is fast enough to fool or deceive the batsman. Likewise slow paced bowling is only effective at taking wickets when the ball is actually spinning off the surface of the pitch. All of the time female bowlers are not fast enough to bowl out a half-decent male batsman and the slow bowlers do not gain enough spin or pace off of the pitch almost any of the time to get a half-decent male batsman out. If the current English women's bowling attack faced up to even the reserve team from a minor county they would be pushed to get more than a couple of wickets per day or even per match unless batting on a minefield, the chaps were on a promise or more than half pissed. Indeed I would back myself or my 14-year-old to make at least a decent score against any female bowler on a professionally prepared wicket. IMO women's cricket is a game unto itself and it is best that it is treated that way. Direct comparisons such as this simply show up the perfectly enormous gap between the two forms of the game. Another thing, why on earth is women's cricket played on such a radically reduced playing area if we are expected to believe that the two forms of the game are in any way comparable? If I was a female cricketer I would find this extremely patronizing as well as pointless. Most county grounds are already small enough for a woman to hit a six. Why reduce the area to that of an under-12s game, unless someone somewhere is secretly taking the piss?

Only you are comparing men's and women's cricket most of us who played can quite easily distinguish them for what they are . I hate to tell you the English women over the age of 25 all played in the best men's leagues in England , the batters have all scored centuries and the bowlers all taken wickets so that chestnut has no legs 😉 men play men, women play women I know that's hard for you to get your around but it's a fact and this is only a video of them put together from each versions they are not playing against each other or being compared . Calm down and enjoy all forms of English international cricket .

Sky please can you keep the men and women separate? No offense but skipping every other wickets is not ideal.
