Track alternates exist in S1. They're called layers and you can find it in the inspector. Or you can record using takes.

- Clip launching. - Granular synth. - An option to adjust the speed of the scroll wheel. - Being able to colour tracks without colouring the arrangement track. - Being able to insert one instrument on different tracks at the same time. - EQ with a listen option like in Pro-Q 3. - A control room like in Cubase.

hahaha the scroll wheel is superset. I use often the preheat (shortcut 8) and thennnnn... super super tiny or Godzilla like tracks

What I would like to see is: Sample editor where I can make chops like Simpler. Dual Pan as an option or default in the mixer like ProTools. Grid edit in the Project Page. Automate elastic pitch and the warping capabilities of Ableton. True multicore integration, not this each channel to its own core bottleneck that it has now. Otherwise I really dig the DAW, it pretty much does everything I want it to do very well 😁👍🏾

Automation on the project page was added with the 5.5 update. By the way, it's been a while since the latest update (5.5.2 IIRC) dropped. I have a lot expectations for the version 6! A live-looping feature with advanced recording and replay options would be incredible. Throw in a modular environment and Studio One will be a strong pick for electronic music producers, even though I'm not crazy about modular stuff, so Phase Plant satisfy my needs for the moment

Didn't realize that automation had already been added to the project page, I guess I missed that one, so thanks!

Presonus is adding CLAP (Clever Audio Plugin) plugin standard. CLAP is an open-source, cross-platform standard with advanced features, such as polyphonic modulation. Early support for it has been given by u-he and Bitwig. It would be excellent to see this plugin format supported in Studio One, both for S1 users and to support the plugin development community.

ARA2 on the Project Page, Pre Metering Pan, Softclipper plugin like FL, Better saturation plugin, Surround mixing, Low pass filter on fat channel with slopes, Better stereo image plugin, Gain Match on the project page, Better mastering suite plugins, Real time MIDI Actions before applying ok, Advance impact XT. I'm slowly moving to Studio One, Cubase is my main DAW alongside Ableton. -The ability to modulate any inc 3rd party parameter. -The ability to assign any parameter including 3rd party to any key / midi button etc like in Ableton ( I love This in Ableton, sooo simple pressing the KEY button). -For me a huge thing is having the metering ability in the main window like in cubase control room. Peak vales on faders / channels, I like to see instantly the effect of pluggins like clippers. limiter etc on my Peak Value. -I also find the midi setup complicated next to Ableton. -I also use the ability to slice audio to audio slices so useful in Cubase, this would be a great touch for someone who's clients use a lot of loops. -I think 6 will be amazing, Presonus have been super helpful in me moving DAW, they seem to listen to the users and sound like they are forward thinking and want the best DAW.

Hey Percy, great video. I have Studio One V3 Pro & looking to upgrade to new. This video you talk about new features and things you'd like to have added. I have an issue with automation. My process, I do a lot of voice editing and instead of using software to remove background I cut n fade (nip/tuck). When I move these pieces around automation adds hundreds of nodes. It's a constant battle trying to keep it clean. This is very problematic to my workflow. Maybe I need to change a preset or even the way I do things. Is there a fix?

As far as the arranger track goes, why don’t you just after moving a section go to the track that starts a little early and grab the clip by the left edge and pull it back out to reveal they part before?

LFO & ADSR modulator like Logic, Cubase Reaper, FL, Reason, Ableton, Bitwig.

Hey percy, some request you asked for are already in S1 5.5. Track alternatives can be done by using the Layer function found in the inspector. The folding of all inserts/send windows in the mixer is done by ALT + click on the expand icon (unfolding icon)... and I believe automation in the project page was added in version 5.5. Anyway.... Cool video (are you also dutch?) I hope version 6 will be amazing!

Just purchased new license and I am getting disappointed. How can I audition multiple notes ? I have a cord of three notes and would like to select them with the mouse and hear the sound ? It seems impossible (or I'm really missing something). It is working in Ableton, why not in S1 ?

Also a movable mixer for individual channels like clicking e on cubase. Also the ability to have post fader inserts

As already mentioned there is automation on the projectpage implemented in 5.5 and I'm pretty sure there is or you can make a macro for the collapsing issue. (select all, collapse etc...) (sorry it makes me doubt your video a bit, do you really work with S1?) My main two features are: something with modulation (like Bitwig whaaaa ) and some more randomization or 'chance' features, I mean in real time. You have it in the pattern unit, but more system through.

Maybe it is possible to create a macro to collapse the plugins in the mixer thx 4 the vid.

The show page would be fantastic if it was possible to use it as a digital mixer. It's almost there, just missing aux sends for monitoring and more rooting options

A more aesthetic GUI would be lovely. atm it is more form follows function flat shift mousewheel scrolling in arrange under macos mid/side eq (built in without splitter)

Missing devices this would be great letting you see the plug-ins snapshot and pointing to the plug-in and now it opens with the adjustments done

I'm sure you can set up a macro command to collapse all of those opened mixer channels. Gregor has loads of macros, as well as videos on KZread about macros and how to set them up. Plus I'm pretty sure you can automate things on the project page. Things like clip gain and the like. Joe Gilder has an extensive video on all of the features on the project page. The only thing I want is a Dynamic E.Q. function added to the Pro E.Q. I do love your idea for a mobile version. I used to have Band Lab on my phone. It was great for working on ideas when I wasn't at home.

There’s already an option to only have one mixer channel expanded. That’s how I always use I!

So simpler / slicex would be awesome in slicex are advantages that you can put the slice points on separate points and the streching simpler captivates with the same advantages here the multi chanel only runs by converting it into a drumrack and internal pitch detection are really an advantage you can stay in the sampler and not drag every sample back into the project afterwards. Key scale fixed so that if I set the scale I can also play in scaler with all midi devices. Logic has had the feature for almost always and cubase has been upgraded to 12 so you don't have to switch scale programs in front or type everything in by hand in the post-certainly some other advantages. envelope folower a function that is now pretty much available in every other daw in Reaper it is possible under parameters in fl studio 9 via Love Filter in Ableton there has been a Max for live tool called envelope folower since 10 with parameters via an envelope /lfo triger control (no matter which parameter you want dynamic eq and other very useful things can be pressed) Formats that are very attractive in Logic are the patches, whole chains with associated send channels are saved as a total preset. then a parametric display or a frequency emphasizing display like in reaper would be very good for pure editing to create in the mixer folder as in Ableton would allow a solid and more efficient work if this is then offered directly as a buss channel, you would save 2-3 clicks. your wishes sound more like that you are someone who is just waiting for the ableton to have a chord track and after years finally an ara 2 connection xD

Bitwig has taken the driver seat for me. I still use Studio One but only for mastering now.

@@SupercyMusic I've never understood this "take the lead" thing. What are they racing to? I'm a multi-DAW user (Pro Tools, S1, Nuendo and Reaper) and all of them offer something that the other doesn't - that's why I use several. If you're happy with your DAW choice, then it shouldn't matter what the others do. Trust me, a hardcore Pro Tools user doesn't care what Presonus is doing, unless they're contemplating a switch. Same logic applies to the "stealing features" argument. All DAW's borrow feature sets and everything eventually gets implemented in other products. Use what you like and be happy with your choice.

We need the Midi Sequencer overhauled. A better sampler like Mimic( Reason) Sampler( Logic). I should not have to use my MPC software in S1 because chopping samples in S1 is wack and the Sequencer is somewhat lacking compared to a MPC or Fl Studio or the other DAWS.

Yes. Both Midi and drum sequencing needs some upgrades. I mostly write cinematic music and I need to perform A LOT of midi editing. Studio One is falling behind here.

It's interesting that you mention the term "live looping" but you don't actually say WHAT is your feature request here. What is this supposed to do? Looping sections live, cueing other sections, skip sections, repeat sections on the fly is already possible, more flexible and much easier to use for live musicians than in Ableton Live.

You can actually open the vertical view of the arranger track and then click on the different parts. You can choose at the top how quickly it skips to the next part. (beat, part etc.. )

@@frankwalders You are right, in the vertical view of the arranger you can setup the way a section behaves before playing the next one, but you cannot skip a section (meaning simply jumping over a section) without deleting it or using the scratch pad. It would be so convenient to have that option in the list ( Off, 1bar, 2bars...SKIP, End)

@@nicolasmartz3793 You really can! You can have the arranger view open on the left (vertically) and then when the part comes up that you want to skip, you click on the part that is after it. You cannot automate this, but if you just want to experience how it sounds this works very well. You can sett it up that it goes to next part after fully playing a part.

@@nicolasmartz3793 Yes that is true and there are requests for making it into a non destructive playlist. Imo I do not see so much the relevance you can just tweak around with the vertical arranger and then you can copy and edit it on a scratchpad if you want. But everybody works differently

Midi-out for instrument tracks

Let me start by saying that all these would be great additions! However, I feel that Studio One is held to a higher standard of needing to be a jack of literally ALL trades than any other DAW. I do think they caused this themselves to a point by adding some features that are going a certain way, but still. What we see with Studio One users is this assumption that it should do everything that every other DAW does. It should do everything people want from Ableton, it should do everything ProTools does, it should do everything Reaper does, and Bitwig, and FL Studio. We see a feature in literally any other DAW and immediately expect this to be implemented in Studio One. But I think it's not fair. Why are no other DAWs held to that same standard? Why is there no uproar when ProTools doesn't have clip start, or Linux support, or well, anything really? And if those unreasonably high expectations aren't met there is loud disappointment. I just don't get the entitlement Also, collapsing channels is already there. You can open a bunch, then select one and all others close. It's a setting somewhere. Ok, looked up what it is. The wrench in the mixer, then check "Auto-expand selected channel". However, I do agree that there are still things to be improved here, like having the option to just collaps all channels, or toggle them.
