I love how I’ve been taking meds for years and multiple of them and like only a couple months ago I was getting patronized by a dentist that my I have so many deminiaturized teath. (ADHD makes it really hard to keep up with self care and routine) and I was just so upset cause I noticed that it didn’t matter when I would keep up my routine or not it wouldn’t stop appearing, then at my last checkup this really nice dentist comes around and notices and then looks at my chart then asked pas me “is your mouth really dry just in general” and then she explained my meds make me produce way less saliva and it is contributing to my deminiaturized teeth. I knew my mental problems were an issue but like I didn’t know it would effect my ability to keep my teeth healthy. 💀 (props to that dentist, she’s the only reason I don’t hate them all the other dentist are huge jerks)

Hi @Teeth Talk Girl So I hate to be very open and forward but I would really like some advice on the topic of getting into a Dental Hygiene program. So to give a little background I have been wanting to get into hygiene since I was in high school, my sophomore year to be exact. I job shadowed dental price all around my area and everyone thought I would be great for the job even then which made me feel great about this career I picked. Fast forwarding to now... I am about to graduate with an AA degree (to get in everyone who has applied had it so I wanted to be on my game and make sure I was doing everything I can to get in) I am graduating this spring with that. This last fall my advisor said I had all my prerequisites done so I should apply.. the only thing I didn’t have is my CPR certificate and to be honest I am not a 4.0 student either but I work very hard. I didn’t get in when I applied and I was sad about it but I know I have better chances next year. What advice can you give for getting into a program? This degree is becoming so competitive... when I was in high school I began to pick out schools to apply in Minnesota, out of 8 this year I could only apply to 1 due to the requirements to get in changing. I hope this makes and that you can help me out! I would so much appreciate it!

My ex went to dental hygiene school. It was 2 years ama it’s hard. You need to have your prerequisites completed from college first like organic biology. My ex actually had a masters from Stanford in Education but still had to go take some prerequisites she didn’t take in her undergraduate degree program because her undergraduate degree wasn’t in a science. She took what she had to then was admitted into the program. I saw what she went through it is a difficult program. I say this because my ex is extremely intelligent. She was first in her class at Boston College then 2nd in her class when she got her masters at Stanford. She could have probably not spent so much time when she was doing the course load but she has to get bc a 100% in every class.. if she doesn’t it’s a huge disappointment for her. It’s a great way to be but I am sure it made the workload more time consuming on her compared to someone just looking to pass and get through it. But who would you rather have as your hygienist? My Ex who gets straight A’s or the person passing by the skin of their teeth. Sorry for the rant.. my point is the program is not for sunshine that this it will be easy. You are expected to know much more aid than they did years ago. You are checking for mouth cancer signs too. You are the fist line to all dental ama mouth issues. You are paid extremely well for it too.. my ex makes almost $50 am hour so you can make a great life from it even if you only wanted to do it part time which many do.. GOOD LUCK!! I HOPE YOU DECIDE TO ENROLL IN THE PROGRAM… It’s a great decision if you decide to do it..

Bad breath (Halitosis) is a disease from the stomach and not something you can fight from the mouth only. I use to think I can use all kind of mouth wash product to cure mine and for many years no positive change until I met a herbal Doctor who helped me with his herbal remedy to cure it completely from my body. Just after two days (2) taking the medicine as directed by him I began to see some good change , my breath was noticeably fresher and cleaner - and most importantly, now i am cured, all thanks to God. my “Dragon Breath” hasn’t returned since and till now I'm free. Only Dr. Aloma has the herbal remedy to Bad Breath. Contact him for your cure today on (dralomaherbscure@gmail.com) or through his cell phone +2348136507352 Dr. Aloma was life saving Thank you. First of all.... A cavity worsens over time....leading to sensitivity, pain and finally swelling (abscess)....you need to see a dentist and get a filling as early as possible... delaying will only leave you with the options of root canal treatment with a crown or extraction which can be more expensive depending on where you live.... Take care of your health! ☮️ If it is just a initial tooth decay without any symptoms, until you see a dentist... you should keep brushing your teeth twice a day with a fluoride tooth paste, floss in between your teeth and rinse your mouth with a fluoride (antidecay) mouthwash at night, avoid sticky food and rinse/brush after every meal. This shall only slow down the decay process and help prevent decay on other teeth as well.

I knew most of these things however, my mouth becomes dry after brushing my teeth. That’s the crazy part. And whenever I experience dryness, I try to drink more water, which makes things worse as the taste that’s in my mouth when it’s dry is heightened (this taste is an indicator that my breath smells off). This normally occurs during the night or in the morning. I find that eating stops the dryness. I doubt that this is medication, but I do drink ensure in the morning.

@@seanbean4015 Hi. Sorry but I don't suffer from bad breath. I had issues with dry mouth which may cause bad breath. However, thank you for sharing. I'm sure it may help someone. My mouth tends to be dry in days it feels like it. I still need to track my health and food intake in those days to figure out why this happens. But anyway... Have a great day and thank you :).
