Thanks a lot Alex I probably no longer need it but is good to know that I can get a mouthwash with the original ingredients as the original biotene that had the enzymes. 👍👍

Finally a video that gives you a simple answer to a simple question instead of going through all of the diseases that could cause it. Many of us simply get dry houses with her mouth when we’re sleeping or don’t drink enough water. If it continues for a really long period of time then you go and see if it’s an illness…

Oh my gosh. Thank you so much. My dentist said to give Biotene a try and I've tried all the different Biotene and it really does not work. I'm on medicines that I cannot change. I can't wait to try it.

It should be illegal to change a medication without ample notification.

.., so, I thought that I was weird looking up a product like Biotene and then I found this video about the product and my dry mouth in general: I don't feel so weird now! I will look for the old recipe stuff, but so far the GSK stuff has been working okay. What a relief that a product like this exist in the first place, because I live thousands of miles from the Sahara desert, but you'd think my mouth visits there every night. I now return you to your regularly scheduled program...... :-)

use choline supps is like putting fuel in your saliva glands, or get it from eggs. take any or all; lemon ginger tea, ginger powder, papaya enzymes, sea-salt, warmed butter. pineapple juice, mint tea, lemon zinger tea, ginger powder with lemon drops. Black/white pepper, cinnamon, etc. Grape juice, veggies and fruits cause they have enzymes in them and they will stimulate the saliva gland. if on meds that constipate or any meds that causes dry mouth take those things after your meds activate or 15-20 min after ingesting.

Thank you guys! I was just looking for some products for dry mouth and this video came up... I was just about to buy some Biotene but I guess I changed my mind now :) Can you do a video if dry mouth can cause gingivitis please?

I was using Biotene Gel that includes Sodium Hydroxide for a few months and then recently one night it burned the back of my throat and my tongue. The reaction was so strong that I began retching and it took more than an hour for my reaction to calm down and I lost taste for the following week. I have sent a complaint to GSK and am in email contact with them. Not only was the product not particularly helpful it is actually dangerous. (resident in the UK)

I hope so I need something I got a dry mouth every day its so bad its hard to swallow it feels like something is caught then its hard to breath. So my pharmacist told me to use biotine but now I'll try the other

2022 I just used this mouth rinse and it is working very well first night and day using it. I never tried original version so idk the original but seems to work great for me

CVS does not offer their version of this product. Found 2 bottles there on a clearance rack. I’ve been using biotene gel for 3-4 years. Was very happy with it. Used it with a CPAP. For me the CVS product didn’t work very well, plus I doubt you can find it anyway.

I was prescribed biotene and it doesn't do anything. I am at a loss as what to do. I have cervical dystonia so I don't know if this is the problem. I can't take it much more it's been 8 months now 😢

What were the removed active ingredients?

It's late 2021. I have used biotene at suggestion of dental group. Within 10 minutes my mouth is dry. It's a waste of 9 bucks. I'm gonna try this stuff. Thanks.

Dry Mouth or Cotton Mouth has to be diagnosed by a Qualified Doctor. It could be Bacterial, Fungus, Vaping or Smoking so that the correct medication is prescribed.

Does anyone know whether the Equate version of this that Walmart sells have the enzymes?

Wonder when they changed? I loved it when I started using it like 8 years ago. Then I stopped using it because it stopped working so well. Now I know why. Thanks 👍

I believe it was around 2012. I had been using biotene products for years. In 2012 I bought a new tube of Oral Balance (Biotene gel) to use at night. It immediate;u burned the back of my mouth and it only lasted for about 10 minutes instead of 4 hrs for the original Biotene. I investigated and found out that GSK had bought the Biotene line and taken all the enzymes out and kept the price the same. When Salivea came out I started using it and it is helping.

This video made me laugh. I have been using Biotène, Act Drymouth and multiple XyliMelts. Also sleep with heated and humidified CPAP. I still have excessive drymouth. I know my drymouth has been getting worse from the meds doctor has me on, but I would hate to discontinue use. Will give this a Salivia a whirl!

Cool 😎Owen don't kid yourself as long as you're on meds, nothing will help your dry mouth issues, if is not too late start taking responsibility for your health and start eating the right healthy foods that can help you with your health issues, I'm not trying to come down you but doctors are much needed sometimes but their meds do as much harm as they do good. Find a doctor that actually cares and is willing to help you cope with whatever health issues you have without having to rely on drugs, meds are drugs just like illegal drugs they will help you but they will also cause other health issues even death.

I've suffered with dry eyes for years and now the last week or so i've had a very dry mouth, I believe i've got Sjogren. Does anyone have a bit of saliva in their mouth and then swallow it because it feels like they are juggling it as they are so conscious to the dry feeling.

Same I’m having this problem too, except my dry eye has improved, but my dry mouth seems to be getting worse. I’m thinking I have sjorens or diabetes or something 😢

Biotene was sold and doesn't contain the same enzymes that made it work before. I found a mouthwash called Salivea that has the same enzymes Biotene used to have!

How about Salivea Dry Mouth Spray? Do you recommend it? Also the symptom that I have is different than others, I found myself have dry mouth before I sleep, and this kept me from falling to sleep. so I slept very little, sometime the whole night I can't sleep. It is a very difficult for me..

I use the spray but it doesn't last long. I use Xylimelts and xyligel at night. Both contain xylitol, but no enxymes

I use the biotene toothpaste (and sometimes the rinse) not for dry mouth primarily, but because it's the only dental hygiene product I've found (and easily available in Canada) that doesn't cause my oral mucosa to slough off.

That sounds interesting I would love to see this in the UK as we have got shop Owen brand boots pharmacy UK and also sale biotene but only a gel and mouth wash as I have tried both but there is a after taste like baking soda yuck😖worse than normal toothpaste

Colgate came out with a product that I'm trying out it comes in a toothpaste for dry mouth

I started using about 2 months ago and worked well but after 2 months stopworking. This happened after this video so I think work for everybody temporarily only.

It was around 2012 I believe. I noticed the difference in the Biotene Gel at that time as I just bought a new tube. It was thinner, burned my mouth and lasted only minutes instead of 4 hours. I investigated and found that Biotene had been purchased by GSK. I went round to all the pharmacies in the area and bought all the original tubes of Oral Balance with enxymes.

dry mouth from a cpap machine, going to try this tonight, will give an update if it works here.

There has been no replacement for the former Biotene gel. Salivea does not make a gel, but I do use their toothpaste and mouth spray with enzymes.

There are probably at least 100 Health Products where this has already happened... where companies have taken some kind of payoff to take their beneficial ingredients out of the product and leaving you having to go to a specialist to be taken care of for your particular issue, could actually give you a list right here but it would take up too much space and take too long to write, and it ranges from oral health to skincare to Eyecare to digestive health and nutrition, and no one seems to know why this is happening but we can all use our imaginations and conclude that this world has become quite. corrupt, and that the AMA and the Ada and other organizations simply don't want you to be a well without their help... the system is broken and only God's kingdom can fix it.......

Do you even know that the enzyme formulation active ingredients are the same as dog and cat's toothpaste namely CET Enzymatic Toothpaste? The nature of enzymes is as catalyst to breakdown complex substrates into simpler products. If you talk about plaque prevention, it fits perfectly for its nature but if you say to relieve and indicated for dry mouth, kindly proof in what sense it helps? Just to moisturize and as an antibacterial agent? Study more about dry mouth, what does dry mouth actually needs? Far more than just those 2 functions that this salivary peroxidase system could ever offer. The system is trying to mimic the natural salivary system, you can't! Our salivary system has the immunoglobulins, the neutrophils, the white blood cells in order to work perfectly with the natural salivary system. How are you going to copy this? Having some ingredients without having the others, the insufficiency will cause even more problem than the simple benefits that it could offer as a moisturizer. Xerostomia is not a simple wrinkly skin that any moisturizer can solve. It needs a thoroughly studied product to cater for all aspects of Xerostomia.
