Mudman8000 It’s quite an interesting sport but it wasn’t something many people could easily access years ago. One of the good things about KZread is it gives these previously hard to follow sports the exposure and also introduces us more to the athletes themselves and their training.

It's a very risky sport and can easily lead to broken bones on inexperienced people... It WILL become popular, but will take a little while... Tendon + ligament strength takes 3x times or more to develop compared to the muscle belly.

He was going to here later April, but WAL like so many other things have been cancelled because of "you know what". The reason he would come up against a middleweight is simply to have the match as fair as possible for Eddie. It was also supposed to be on the left hand, his opponent RVJ's much weaker hand.

He is also incredibly strong, it's just specialized for his sport. Take him out of those specific conditions and he doesn't have world-class strength overall, but he isn't training to be strong overall. He's training to be strong in very specific scenarios.

Jonathan Gonzalez if you turn you face away from your hand you’re put into a really vulnerable position, an inexperienced arm wrestler could easily break his arm if he’s against a strong opponent when in that position.

You know Devon is going "down under" as well. Devon has for many years been a big fan of the king's move, it's just in the last year or so he has become good enough at it to just use it in a match. 1) like others have mentioned, it's not like he doesn't do anything to work out his upper body, even if he doesn't do traditional lifts 2) muslce memory, he said when he used to bench his max was 365 3) he's a big dude that weight 260+ lbs

Keep in mind he benched his bodyweight. 240 is impressive if you're 170 lbs but not at his weight. If Eddie only benched mid 300's people would be laughing.

im quite proud. i started really working out like 9 months ago and i bench now 86kg and im 66kg. seeing such a big guy like devon bench 115kg is quite motivating

Devon is actually really fkin strong. All he trains normally are pull exercises cause that's all he needs pretty much. He made some crazy reps with them 40kg dumbbells maaan

@@natev1956 Strength is specific. Him being a good bencher wouldn't help him become a better armwrestler. You could even argue that it could make him worse because of the time he would have to put into learning the bench would take away from his real practice.

Devons always so humble, a real class act.

U can see the difference in the best and David how much different the work out and the way they do it it’s so cool

Yea helps them to stay with their arm, instead of them leaving it out to the side as they turn away from it, where it can easily break. Not that it always works. You can be in a horrible position whilst looking at your hand. But still. Wanna stay facing the table. I think just focusing on keeping your elbow at the centre of your chest is probably good advice that is easy to follow... Then keep your arm in the same position it stated in, by always following your arm when you are winning or losing, with your body. People starting out should only be both pulling though, which is easier as far not breaking one's arm by not following it sideways to the losing pad. If armwrestling gets a lot bigger, then more people will know the basics, and far less arms will be broken. Which would be a very nice public service. People should also take my comment with a grain of salt, because I am just an observer of the sport.

Love watching these two guys together.

Eddy is obviously a great guy to hang out with, but Devon seemed so nice and genuine, no disrespect to anyone you had on your channel, but Devon stands out as being a top bloke. Would have loved a gym session like that with you guys (and probably do almost half the weight Devon does).
