    Sun washed stone and half-timbered houses. It’s so pretty! Love the little tree-filled squares where folks can escape the heat and enjoy a meal. Thank you for showing us the city wall and gates!!

    My mother side were Basque Not a single Basque word Neither in shops nor street signals Probably,french governement do nota allow Basque language What a pity Or people born there,are not pride of their ancestors

    Both French and the Basque language are spoken by many people in Bayonne and the area. They are very proud of their heritage, and no, the French government doesn't not prohibit the use of the Basque language on street plaques.
