Not surprising, a lot of the Spanish that came to the Americas were Basque and from North Spain because they were the experts with landstock/ganaderia. My family is Honduran/Nicaraguan and I recently went to French/Spanish basque country and Burgos and was blown how much they influenced our pastries, dairy farms, etc. It was our first time seeing our last names everywhere (outside our little areas of Honduras and Nicaragua), not a very widespread name

I just recently compared a few words and verb infinities and found suprising similarities. Euskara verb infinitive ends with "u", same with Kazakh. Biratu - бұрату (buratu), baztertu - бас тарту (bas tartu), heldu - келу (kelu). Not many words but there are. Dar-dar - дар-дар.

Yo no me invento nada.
