    This is why I went with the HD torque cam. Might not perform as good as the S&S but it rides smoother and faster down low

    Got to admit, when I had an Evo with a mild cam. It was great. Went to a TC 103, stg4 cnc heads etc, it lost all its ridability, and you just wanted to beat up on it all the time, I miss my Evo 'Train... The Gixx14 is still a delight Tim 👌

    This is why I’m sticking with my stage 1 on my 114 street bob. It’s got more than enough power to have fun and all the grunt I could need riding around with my friends. I commute with my bike during the riding reason and I’d be killing my neighbours starting up the bike and leaving the neighborhood with a stage 2 at 4:45am lol just running the S&S non-cat grand nationals and Arlen ness big sucker replacement filter for the Harley screaming eagle ventilator intake that comes on the new street bobs. Even with just a stage 1 it can still give me thrills when I want to ride spiritedly on weekend blasts but still has all the manners and rideability for the commute, and that’s coming from someone who came from sport bikes before switching to my street bob(my first Harley)

    I had some S&S slip ons on my Heritage and did a 1500 mile trip. I put the stock pipes back on it and enjoy it for now but I might get some Rush slip ons for it because they are longer and will make the bike look better. I have Rush on my sportster and never get tiered of hearing them. Natural for Life.

    I only have issues if I'm in a low gear like second gear and doing 25-35 mph. it just doesn't want to go that slow in a smooth manner. Gets a bit jerky using the S&S 475 cam. But I can live with that.

    I think I'd feel bummed going back to stock power after having stage 2, but I totally get where you're coming from. May want to look into something like a Wood 222, 22x, or 22XE cam. They're supposed to be designed for baggers and 2 up riding with more low end in mind. Just an option so long as the S&S is coming out anyways. On another note, I heard they lowered sub count to 500 for monetization, so congrats!

    I know right, I do love the power its intoxicating. After having the cam for 12 months now its getting a bit old if that makes any sense? the day to day ride-ability is non existent and that's where most of my riding is. I've actually booked to get it all put back but it will be dyno tuned to maximise the stage 1 set up. 500 subs for monetising? I hadn't heard that. Maybe that's why there's ads in my videos all of a sudden. Ill have to look into that. Stay safe.

    @@timfinning Yeah I hear ya on the daily ride-ability. And yeah I though I saw they dropped it to 500 subs. You’ll still need to go to the monetization tab under each video in your studio to actually turn it on though I think. Definitely check into it!

    apparently the S&S 475 is very exhaust sensitive effecting the m8 low down. i have the woods 22xe cam in my 117 Lowrider S = 125hp and 136 ftlbs of torque. Cobra exhaust not highly rated by most tuners. Bassani, HPI and Fatcat( many more options too) are better options

    I got a 475 full kit along with a se elite heavy breather a few weeks back.I love the sound but agree with everything you say in your vid.Its horrible going from a stop to 'on throttle'.Going around roundabouts or slow moves is horrible. The sound is awesome though.I have a 465 also on the shelf. Im not sure what i want to do yet.If i change though id rather go to either the 465,SE torque or other torque cam(zippers for example) rather than stock.I'll have a long think about it over autumn/winter(Ireland).

    So 2 problems here. 475C cam, and 2 into 1 exhaust. 475C likes high RPM, and 2 into 1 exhausts take a ton of tuning to hit good low end RPM. Means you have to ride at high RPM for everything. You need to get a 22XE, or RS468, or SE Torque Cam, and possibly go back to a set of Slip-ons like a rinehart, sharkroad, or Eliminators/twinslash with Baffles. I have 2014 Fat Boy 114 with SharkRoad Slip-ons modded with 158W TTIs in louvered baffles and stage 2 SE Torque Cam and I have incredible low end torque from 2000RPM up, and a tune from FuelMotoUSA. You should look into getting a TTI for your 2into1 pipe to help restore low end torque, and look for a Torque Cam like a 468 or 22XE. I cant imagine going back to stage 1, Stage 2 is so much more power and capable. I'm going to be swapping to a 22XE which has massive low endtorque but still outcompetes the 475C cam in HP and gives peak HP at 5500RPM range which is much sooner than the 475C. And I wont be changing my TTI equiped pipes. Looks like you may need the same. High RPM cams are only good at the track or dragstrip. Low end torque is what makes a bike street happy.

    I agree the Bassani pipe (known for its low end torque dip) and 475 cam are just not going to be a great match until the mid-range. But, be careful not to generalize all 2 into 1s as being soft down low or require lots of tuning. There's some really bad ones, many ok to decent ones, and a few excellent ones.

  • @FranBunnyFFXII

    @FranBunnyFFXII

    @@mattb6849 It's a problem thats typical o the Softail M8 because of the small changes in bhe Softial version of the engine. and I said it takes a lot of tuning effort to get rid of that torque dip. it's a problem with the Softail's version of the engine.

  • @mattb6849

    @mattb6849

    9 ай бұрын

    @@FranBunnyFFXII It's due to the exhaust length differences between the touring and softail platforms. Can't package the same length primaries and muffler / baffle configurations to the softails. The M8s have shown they like long primaries for broad power. That's why you'll see a D&D fatcat produce a flatter, more broad torque curve on a Softail vs. this bassani for example. The torque dips create tuning challenges. These can be worked/fixed some, but only so much can be done. A cam with enough overlap gives the exhaust system more control over things, making the dips even more pronounced.

    You must either have a shitty cam or bad turner my friend. I have a 2022 street glide 114" with stage II and im putting to the ground 128hp/129tq. Bike rides and drives like stock, even at low speeds unless i want to rip and have fun. You should have ZERO drivability issues. My set up is with Zippers stage II and their 472 cam, Sawicki 2-1 exhaust, 64mm throttle body with matching intake, bigger injectors and high flow air cleaner. Sorry that you paid all that money and are having this trouble.

  • @timfinning

    @timfinning

    9 ай бұрын

    Hi Jeremy, I had it Dyno tuned 3 times and it rode really well over 2500 rpm but under that it was average. I only had the cam 475 SnS chain driven and the 2-1 exhaust not bigger injectors or throttle body maybe that would of made a difference. Depending where you are from we have a tuner key here in Australia called Maximus tune and they are definitely hit and miss with the M8's. Ive now gone back to stage 1 and its soo much better down low but I miss the grunt from the cam. Stay safe mate🤙

    Harley does a pretty good job with their cam selection. Certain builds definitely can be complimented with a different cam but just doing a stage 2 almost never makes sense. If you had some head work to take advantage of the cam then you would be happier…..most likely
