FLY FISHING FOR TROUT IN PENNSYLVANIA!!
Streamer fishing is easily one of my favorite ways to catch brown trout and this video proves exactly why! Not only did I catch several nice brown trout but I also had a chance at my second musky on the fly.
Pa has a rich history of fly fishing. The shear amount of trout water in Pa is overwhelming which is part of the reason the state has produced some of the most well known anglers in fly fishing. As incredible as the state is I’ve never really put much effort into exploring it… But I’m hoping to change that.
The further we worked our way down the river, the less trout I moved. This is pretty typical for larger river systems because as you move down stream the water warms. Eventually you get to the point where trout can no longer survive. I tried for musky on the last mile or so of the float with no success, which shouldn’t be a shock. But we couldn’t complain, boating 6 fish in marginal trout water is always a treat. If you all have ever wanted to fish Pa then hit up Dan from @HardwayOutdoors and book a trip. He’s a wealth of knowledge and will get you on some fish and is seriously just a good dude.
Thanks for watching the video!

Lovin it man, LOVIN IT! Beautiful catches and gotta say this is the first time I've heard of, really, ANYTHING outta Pennsylvania for fishing. 😮 Probably due to lack of my own research, but appreciate the different location and info. Keep em comin my friend. Peace ✌😎
Incredible that you two are out on water together. I subscribe to both your channels! Started watching Dan for trad archery, you brothers for WV fly fishing. Fly fishing and traditional archery just kinda go together. Lol Great trip guys, enjoy both your content
Dan is incredible as well as his streamers.. Glad you did better this trip to PA..

Wow, fantastic fishing! Thanks!
Jon, you're in my territory now. One day you should try the West Branch of the Delaware. Very limited access but more than a few big boys swimming around in there.

@@hardmanfishing - There's only 2 public access points I know of on a 17 (?) mile stretch, but there is a club or two that are private property. This guy, Scott, who's channel is PA Woods & Water knows the area well and is a pretty good fisherman. He could use some videography lessons from you. 🤣
I live in pa and love the trout fishing
Awesome. Great fishing and beautiful browns, and always tight lines.

Gotta switch it up and hit some big water too!
PA has a some mega wild browns . Olive color streamers do excellent out there
Sick video!! You gotta look up the LRO boys on the Lackawaxen river if you like floating boats for Pennsylvania fish !!
Three questions: Can you recommend the absolute best to streamer fly tying book? Can you recommend the best KZread channel in order to learn just how you lot across the pond tye the streamers that you use? Can you put me in contact with a dude who may be willing to tye up and send to me here in Warwickshire, England. Keep the videos coming! Love it.
you should 10000% come to state college it will not disappoint
You need to fish the Yough in pa monster browns and just big water and fun to fish
Love watching ya'lls fishing videos. I recently got a couple of fly rods and reels and can't figure out why fly fishermen spool out their line. It looks like it would create a tangled mess. Why don't you just reel in the excess line? I can't find anything online that explains it. I have never been fly fishing before but am looking forward to this spring and summer and trying it out. thanks Michael M.
Good day of fishing, John. In those 'dark' waters I always use black or dark green streamers, as you did. It almost always works. Ehm, did you misuse a hammer recently? (right thump).
I need to fish pa more!
Those were some awesome fish! Were you using a floating line?
I use a Cortland. Mine is 20yrs old.
How to you make your leaders for streamers or do you use prefabricated ones purchased from a major company? Thanks
What fly would you recommend for tiny creeks that are around 1.5-2.8 feet deep at most
I need to start fly fishing what’s a good rod and reel to but for beginners
Awesome! Didn't think browns got that big there or that you float rivers with rafts. Ever try any mouse patterns there on the top? Looks like a good river for it. Keep putting videos out like this so people start flocking there instead of crowding us out in Montana and destroying the rivers :)

Dan and I were talking about throwing mouse patterns in there actually LOL and I don't think I'll have that much of an effect to pull the anglers from montana to Pa! Although a lot of places out east have big trout

Lol. I've caught maybe 5 19" inch browns over many years fishing in pa. I watched my dad catch a 24" out of a super small creek I couldn't believe it. It was blind in one eye. The lakes are where the big boys are in my area tho.
This man has to come to NZ

I’d tell you about a private stocked fishery that is available to the public but I don’t want to ruin a local gem. It has absolute tanks. 20+ is more common then uncommon..browns, palominos and rainbows. Fat as footballs. Its unreal. It’s addicting.
What line weight do you have in this video?
