    Loved the vid but whats the beef with the brookies

  • @hardmanfishing
    @hardmanfishing23 сағат бұрын

    No beef with brookies, just stocked brookies. And my beef with them is they intermingle and take the place of native brookies. The stockers aren't the same strain of brook trout as the natives so there's really nothing good about a stocked brookie in water with native brook trout

    I laughed at you saying "its huge its huge its huge" because I dod the same thing last week when I hooked into a 28-30 rainbow trout on 6lb line haha! Great feeling playing and landing a rare fish like that!

    I both fly fish and spin fish. I most enjoy fly fishing however, there are many situations where it is far more difficult to reach fish using a fly rod because of the difficulties in making a back cast due to the foliage behind you.

    Great video. Your Walmart is a lot different than mine. I was just at mine last night, and they did not have anything close to what yours did. I found one fly rod, a few flies, and that was about it.

    Why do you guys try to net every fish? I’m new to fly fishing and am struggling to understand, because once you go to net them you guys walk right up to the hole and it spooks any other fish in the hole? Doesn’t it?

    Both are fun but fly fishing makes the fight more intense but the same goes for ultra light spin rods it all depends on what you prefer and like

    I don't even want to say it but that fish didn't bite the line off. It was definitely a bad knot. Lol like a musky bite.

    I just started fly fishing at the river near me and I’d catch good size trout on a spinner but the fly is way more consistent especially when it gets hot

    I've been using tenkara rods keiryu rods for a while. I've purchased my first fly rod and the transfer is going along. The casting is amazing and I'm learning a lot. Can't wait to start catching fish on streamers

    Juvenile rainbows get the yellow indication on their belly that just means they’re really pure golden trout less of dots are on back and there would be punch together

    Tips on setting the hook on streamers? I seem to lose a lot of fish in streamers during the bit and don’t really understand it. I get a strip set but not that dramatic of one admittedly I usually pull the rod a bit to the side as well to try to make tension and just don’t always connect even on strong takes. I noticed you kind of set how I do unless I’m missing something. It’s kind of frustrating as a newbie as I’ve lost twice what would have been my pb

    Based on the success of your Tenkara attempt, and how easy it was for you to pick it up, I’d say your review was based more on what you expected, the opinion of your ignorant friends than an actual review of Tenkara fishing. You didn’t even mention how easy it is to carry, extend your rod and start fishing. Test according to your specifications? Come on.

    Thank you for your video In the 1960’s as teen I remember fishing beaver dams for native brook trout in New England. They were beautiful fish. I always kept a few and they had beautiful pink meat and were absolutely delicious. Brook trout are one of the most beautiful salmonids in the world.

    One day in April years ago on the Salmon River when I was still mostly bottom bouncing I met a couple dudes and we exchanged reports and they told me they were Czech nymphing. I asked what that meant and they described bottom bouncing with a fly rod. I have since moved primarily to float fishing in the big rivers.

    I fished a tiny creek on my way to a bigger river in Wyoming a few years back and hooked two nice fish, but didn't land them. Your video shows that they're there in those little, cold-water creeks and, with a bit of stealth, you can catch them! Thanks so much for your fishing channel!
