Fly Fishing a Tiny Urban Roadside Creek! (Fishing for Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout)

FLY FISHING A TINY URBAN CREEK FOR WILD RAINBOW TROUT AND WILD BROWN TROUT!
In this video I went fly fishing with in the middle of town right along a roadway. This creek is one of the best trout streams I've fished, but suffers from a lot of trash and pollution. This is Appalachia, where poverty runs rampant but the people are amazing and the fishing is incredible.
I ended up catching about 20 fish, with only a handful being brown trout and the rest being rainbow trout. These fish are 100% wild trout and have been in this stream for decades. This unique stream is one of the most unique waterways I have the privilege of fishing and makes for some rather interesting catches.
I hope you enjoy this weekend fishing adventure and the scenery and uniqueness that the Appalachian mountains has to show off. Also shouts out to everybody who showed up and who was involved in the creek cleanup the following day. It's awesome to see people out there giving back to these streams. Thanks for watching.

As a child I was so intrigued by fishing for Trout. I learned all the names of the Trout, got a rod, a spool and the floating line etc. My Dad even got me an "automatic" reel. I gathered all the equipment to tie flies and practiced all the time. But we never went fishing. I didn't live near even a creek. At age 13 my closest buddy and I packed up a tent and sleeping bags grabbed a bunch of food from our parents pantry and rode our bicycles about 12 miles to a designated Trout Pond on a State Recreation Area. We didn't camp in the campground, we sneaked off the beaten path and hid our little camp inside a stand of man planted red pines that were about 10 feet tall. The next morning we got up befor daylight and got down to the pond where as it got daylight we watched Trout jumping out of the water all over that pond. We couldn't get them to bite so we went to another man made pond, quite a bit larger and swam. That afternoon both of our mothers came looking for us. As we sat at the public picnic area eating late afternoon lunch, we saw the car. Rats, we were planning our attack on those Trout for that evening but when we saw the car it was too late to hide. My buddies bike got a flat tire, and our Moms used it as an excuse to "rescue" us. I'll never forget those Trout jumping like that. Ever I'm 72. ben/ michigan

I'm glad you explained the spring creek water system in your stomping grounds. Very interesting. I was half expecting an old bearded miner exiting that old shack and asking you for whiskey. A big thanks to you and others cleaning up the trash. Obviously I wish that task wasn't needed. Many people are just so frigging lazy, don't believe in God and His miracles while they're standing in and dumping a tire into one of those beautiful miracles.

By the way, these creeks are great! I don’t have small trout streams and love seeing yours. Doesn’t bother me that it’s by the road or channeled or has litter in some places. That’s real!
