Johann Strauss II (October 25, 1825 - June 3, 1899), was an Austrian composer of light music, particularly dance music and operettas. He composed over 500 waltzes, polkas, quadrilles, and other types of dance music, as well as several operettas and a ballet. In his lifetime, he was known as "The Waltz King", and was largely then responsible for the popularity of the waltz in Vienna during the 19th century. Strauss was admired by other prominent composers: Richard Wagner once admitted that he liked the waltz "Wein, Weib und Gesang" Op. 333. Johannes Brahms was a personal friend of Strauss; the latter dedicated his waltz "Be Embraced, You Millions!", Op. 443, to him.

This is the most desirable music ever composed to dance to be rejoiced by and to be enthralled by a gift from Our ever loving God in Christ.
I was introduced to the music of Johann Strauss by my sister at the tender age of 10 (1971). I loved it then and I still love it now. I work from home and I listen to his music all day long, it keeps me sane and soothes my soul. Thank you HALIDONMUSIC!

Strauss's music speaks to me of the glory of Vienna of a long time past... days that were once and then gone, and will never return. The nobility, the grace, and all of it has a somehow sad air.
I first listened to Strauss waltzes at age 7 from a vinyl platter on our family HiFi in 1953. I also heard plenty at the Houston Symphony Orchestra's twice-weekly summer concerts, guided by its Maestro Leopold Stokowski. I had the good fortune to attend a small college (enrollment 270) with a Hungarian student activities director who was a master at the dance. Over a few decades, he taught hundreds -- perhaps between 2 and 3 thousand of us -- the waltz. We had semi-formal (coat and tie, or a ball dress) waltz parties every 3rd Saturday evening. All I have to do now is to close my eyes during this music and I can feel the steps as well as my favorite partner, whom I last saw in 1974.

My Grandmother would talk if Czechoslovakia when she was young in Prague, there were Balls that would go All Night, couples twirling in Old Fashioned Waltzes, energetic waltzing! And an orchestra that would play these LONG pieces, Blue Danube, and couples would dance the Whole Time! Or get up & sit down as they wished, because the music would go on continuously. Today they'd just play a medley, or over & over, of recorded sound. Back then, People had to go on doing the actual music all night, one waltz after another, couples twirling Everywhere!!!

I just returned from the hospital recovering from renal - bladder surgery. Yes I'm recovering well thank you. I believe in musical therapy as I have used it multiple times in the past when I was post surgery . With medical care, nutrition, family love and streaming Strauss music I WILL RECOVER! 👌👌💖

Tuve el privilegio, la dicha, el honor y el placer y la alegría de formar parte de una banda filarmonica en los años 70. Toqué esa música y es algo maravilloso interpretarla. Esperar los compaces para entrar en tu parte y entremezclarse con el grupo. Es el éxtasis total. Y al terminar, cuando se baja el telon el director corre y te abraza y te da las gracias. Es una bendición.

Thank you for this marvelous music. I am sitting in my home office putting the final plans together for a 7 nights/6 days at the Hotel Imperial in October 2021. I am a retired university history professor with all the time in the world to read the history of Austria, the Habsburg Empire, reading Fin-De-Siegel Vienna, Politics and Culture by Carl Schorske right now. I want to know abut the exactly who, what, when and where I am standing in the Hofburg, attending a Strauss concert in the Schonbrunn ball room, or visiting the Burgtheater. Magnificent music for my walking around the cultural capital of the western world in 19th century. Lived in Salzburg in early 1950s and been a Mozart, Beethoven and Strauss affectionado ever since.

Hermosos recuerdos de mi juventud cuando con mis amigas y amigos festejamos los quince años de alguna de las amigas. Pero no me quedo en el pasado. Lo recuerdo pero solo eso. Sigo disfrutando de esa música y a mis setenta y cuatro años aún me fascina y hasta en ocasiones bailo aunque sea solo.

В 1955 году преподаватель физкультуры всегда начинал с супругой на студенческих вечерах ( каждую субботу) с вальса: изящно, нежно, любовно ,супруга как статуэтка на мужской ладони! Покорил!!! С тех пор Штраус, вальсы классики сопровождают прошедшую жизнь и быть им всю оставшуюся. Много вековая вечность этих аккордов вне сомнений! Полет мыслей в аккордах - шедевр, неповторим!
