When I was a little girl, I had a private art teacher, I loved her, she played us the Strauss waltz and told us to dance and paint, so I gave brushstrokes dancing to the beat of this music. Since then I haven't listened to this music. And just today I remembered how beautiful that feeling was, like joy and freedom together and I looked for this music and it's true, you feel good again.
Ein grosser Künstler ,der uns diese unsterblich ,schöne Musik geschenkt hat . Ich kann sie immer hören und mich wunderbar dabei entspannen.
An elderly Canadian gentlemen told me many years ago that speding a sunny afternoon in a park in Vienna listening to Strass was one of the best days of his life.......the world has had many great classical musicians, but no one could compose waltzes as beautiful as Johann Strauss...

As a little girl I danced to this, as a teenager 2001 A Space Odyssey brought back this beautiful music. And now I sit with my beautiful memories and love Strauss more than ever

It first struck me as odd that a Viennese waltz would be on a science fiction film but that's okay
I'm so glad my 6th grade teacher from Great Britain obligated us Americanized students to listen to classical music. I'm Puerto Rican.

Strauss II is my most favourite classical composer. Sometime in 1993 or when the 9 y/o me heard Tales from the Vienna Woods being played by my big sister on her brand new Yamaha FE-40, I was entranced. I have a couple of old Strauss II CDs in my collection. I think it's high time for a newer album. Thank you once again HM for this quality playlist from performances by some of the world's best musicians and orchestras and for eliciting a fond childhood memory. Happy Listening to all!

My whole life was centered on Strauss. My Father who was born in 1895, taught to to Waltz by stepping on his shoes. Just cannot remember how many times I have seen The Great Waltz, with Fernand Graver, Melitza Korguis, and Luise Renner. In fact it is still on my DVR. His home in Vienna was not very impressive. But his statue in Vienna was a dream.

Apaixonante. Desde minha infância sempre fui fã e amei tanto o pai como ao filho Strauss . Para mim dos compositores clássicos foram sempre os melhores e toda vez que os ouço como agora, sinto o coração e a alma em paz, leve e uma imensa gratidão a Deus por ter nos presenteado com estes dois gênios da música clássica, além do que, sou apaixonada por Valsas. Este meu comentário, de forma alguma desmerecem outros compositores do mesmo naipe, como Verd, etc. Mas as Valsas destes dois me fazem sentir como se estivesse no céu. SÃO ETERNOS E DENTRO DE SEUS ESTILOS, SÃO INSUPERÁVEIS. SEMPRE FOI MEU DESEJO ESTUDAR E CONHECER MELHOR A VIDA DOS DOIS STRAUSS, POIS ELES ME ESTAZIAM E CONFESSO SER APAIXONADÍSSIMA POR SUAS MÚSICAS.

I hope the young generations will get to enjoy and learn how much these classical creations are timeless and priceless. Many years ago, I asked my late husband who was a professional musician himself about music. I asked him how music got started. Without a second thought, he told me the birds started music and how [cave] men started carving what they see and hear on caves - I don't remember exactly but I was fascinated by how music originated. He was a music historian. Listening to these timeless pieces is a typical Sunday for me - time well spent.
9:53 I am 80 years and love this music as much as I did when I purchased my very first LP record Strauss Waltzes in 1957.

Siempre escuché ésta hermosa música selecta y celestial, llena de limpieza emocional, cómo olvidarla si me transporta a la tranquilidad mi bella infancia y juventud ? No, es que se esté perdiendo el gusto por la buena música, lo que pasa es en los colegios para clases populares el arte NO forma parte de las materias dictadas allí, en resumen el arte en todas sus expresiones son materias que están betadas para los colegios populares, pero eso NO quiere decir que la música clásica NO nos guste a algunas personas de las clases populares

Ces valses de Strauss me rappellent un beau souvenir...celui ou mon mari et moi avons valsé au Kurtsalon dans le belle ville de Vienne . C'est dans ce lieu que Strauss jouait ses valses avec ses musiciens. Je suis retournée chez moi au Canada,(Québec ) le cœur plein d'allégresse et enchantée de mon voyage en Autriche. I love the Blue Danube. I feel like I am floating lazily down a river... Either that or through space. Regardless, it is gorgeous and it is no wonder that Strauss is today seen as such a master.

It's one of our favourites too (yes, we have plenty of favourites), it's so unique and beautiful... We also associate it with new beginnings, what with it being possibly the most anticipated piece performed by the Vienna Philharmonic at the New Year's Concert. My first ever time listening to Strauss was when i was 14, growing up in an Asian country. I am 72 now and the music i turn on for my grandchildren durin sleep over, was either Strauss or Mozart. Within ten mins, they were asleep. Id keep it going for another hour before i was ready for bed myself. Memories to last forever. ❤

I'm a writer and I came often to get inspiration through the comments section, sometimes reading the comments and listen to Strauss match in a way that something sparks in my head, and I begin to write like a Industrial machine making bottles fast and fast, if you read this I hope the best for you.
I was about 14 when I was first exposed to Strauss waltzes. In 1961 the nuns had us sing "Praises of Vienna" in 8th grade . During the rest of my life a I have continuously enjoyed them and would rate Strauss at least the equal of all the greatest composers! It is hard for me to believe that one man could create such a numerous list of different waltzes, but still each still expressing the same underlying flowing gaiety.

When I was starting out as a rock and jazz drummer listening to The Rolling stones and Elvin Jones, my mother handed me a Strauss Album. "I think you should listen to this too" I'm glad she did.
Que musica mas hermosa e inspiradora . Recuerdo a mi papá, sentado en el living , un fin de semana en la tarde ,escuchando los valses de Strauss . Recuerdo imborrable . Escucho estas melodías y vuelvo a mi infancia . Que genios musicales . Sussy .

If you are reading this at night, you should get some sleep, and don't stress about everything going on in the world, or what you are going through. Don't dwell on things from the past, don't stress on your future. Just live your life, because you only get one. Do whatever makes you happy, not what other people want from you.
