Honestly this is so hilarious but is very interesting.

2.5 pints in that Yard of Ale!?! (1.42 liters.) I had a 1 pint Yard of Ale (0.568 liters) at some point, and that was fun, but doable. Also, the drinker could also have two tries.

My local pub so I have The Horns!! It’s a grand night out when these initiation rites are held. Good video again !

I like this one Joolz - Walk videos are your main 'thing' but I like these "on site at quirky events" videos too, of which there are of course many through the London year. One of my big planned walks this year is Highgate and to finally tackle Highgate Cemetery... So I might have to drop in here for a swift half afterwards!

nice. it's good when you share one of these British culture.

I shall, at first opportunity, go forth to one or more of my local drinking emporium, and commence thereby instituting, at said establishment in Texas, the serious but fun loving acts of swearing on the horns and drinking a yard of ale. So be it proclaimed on this ninth day of October in the year of our lord 2022.

I did feel like a total cop out but it's ben a heavy week!

The Wrestlers. My local pub for many years back in the day. Martin still the publican I see. Kiplings still next door. I remember the lock ins here before licences were deregulated. Happy days :)

Another technique for the yard, rest the shaft in the crook of your arm by the elbow and ideally rotate it whilst drinking to avoid glugs of air bubbles!

Will participation in this ceremony cause my US citizenship to be revoked? It's not necessary a deal breaker

The yard of ale is still a tradition at 21st birthday parties in Australia. But it has been replaced in recent years by swinging a bag of goon ( bagged wine ) of the clothes line , called the goon of fortune . Personally I prefer the yard glass .

One must always encircle the clothesline as a group, cigarette lighters ignited, and pray to the Goon Gods prior to partaking of drink or you'll be cursed with a chronic hangover as punishment for blaspheme.
