I do a 16/8 everyday. The trick is to eat clean during your 8 hour window. I get all my protein in. I train for an hour and do an hour of cardio daily. I stay making gains and losing weight. I will never not incorporate fasting into my lifestyle. Occasionally I throw in a 5 day fast every few months. I have never felt better.

Same here, between noon and sunset. I have been fasting from plants since June. Also, no liquid by mouth while doing gym work. It's only an hour. Been into IF since 2014, but the actual food has consequences. Jerry knows his stuff

Great info here Jerry…..however, many doctors don’t consider diabetes cured by changing diet and fasting. They call it “managed” , with the argument being it will return if the person returns to their old lifestyle……..I agree with you.

I do 16/8 a day. I find that hunger varies from day to day. Somedays I don't feel much hunger, other days I get ravished. Be able to over ride hunger just like any diet. I think the benefit comes from being in fat burning mode longer. Go Keto/Low carb to maximize this effect. Monitor you calories still depends on calorie deficit just like any "diet".

Jerry, I've listened to many of your videos and have often been impressed. Could I just add that the t the hunger hormone is turned off apparently. That's what I've heard and experienced. Growlin or something. Which I'm sure you know, you just overlooked given your attention to giving us everything. I realised that you said everyone is different. Thankyou Jerry. Brilliant.

It takes approximately 5 hours for the stomach to fully empty. So if you eat in 1 hour and then take no kcal in, in the next 23 hours your actual fast is (net) 18 hours. Subscribing.

Great video, but when training at the end of a fastingperiod of fx. 16 hours, really really intense training, then I belive, that such training may count for many hours of fasting! Can you try to look into that in a video espc, in reg. to HGH?.... But maybe due to the increased level of adrenaline in training, then that will raise the bloodsugar, and so may not increase HGH that much after all?!.... but I think this do not have much to say as normal training allso raises HGH and normal training allso increase adrenaline....

It can worsen diabetes, depending on how much muscle is been broken down and energy intake, especially if very little carbs are eaten. Starve your Gut bacteria by not eating carbs and lose as much muscle as fat, and it will worsen. Both muscle and gut bacteria regulate your system. Muscle takes up a lot of glucose and communicates with the pancreas, ordering it to work, gut bacteria will all send signals to the pancreas too, giving it orders too. Even if your super fat, if you have lots of muscle and very diverse and lots of gut bacteria it's pretty difficult to get type 2 diabetes, if you aren't a chronic alcoholic. Being lean of course helps, but if you're a bodybuilder even just stopping force feeding will get you lean.

Basically nothing he says in this video matters, because everyone pushing Intermittent Fasting (IF) is also pushing ketogenic eating in conjunction with IF. IF without keto is basically pointless because it takes way longer to experience the benefits of fasting when there is glycogen/carbs in your system. Remove the carbs and there are a plethora of beneftis.

Right. I am on a strict carnivore-ketogenic diet and IF-OMAD during working days. After 3 months in a gym my weight went from 64 to 76 kg and mostly muscle. I am 65, BTW. After the gym (90 min of HI rowing + HILV of resistance exercise 20-30 min) i feel like a superman. I eat more than 1 kg of meat every day. No plants at all. Herbal tea with electrolytes during the gym. IF rules!
