If you enjoyed touring Stowe House with us check out Houghton Hall which had similar design details by William Kent... still furnished and very splendid! Link below 👇 kzread.info/dash/bejne/hJefmtOJcpqwY9o.htmlsi=oFurZ0mQ4t7ilkmm

As much as I enjoyed the tour, I repeatedly found myself thinking that fiscal irresponsibility created much of those gorgeous interiors. I cannot imagine having a line of credit that immense.

@donfranktv Hi Don! Thankyou so much buddy... its quite a place... there's literally 5 or 6 more follys and temples we didn't film... its a 250 acre estate and we ran out of time! So pleased you enjoyed it... the Marble Hall is without a doubt the most impressive we've seen so far! Hope you have a great week... all good wishes sent your way from us both 😊

Good morning Neil and Ant well what a magnificent start to the day for us. Imagine going to school here. The follies are some of the best we have seen anywhere. It's hard to put into words the beautiful interiors. They did well selling sheep didn't they. We just adore the decorations and some of the most wonderful ceilings we have seen. We agree the marble saloon is just fantastic wow what a space. We are not surprised that they ran out of funds imagine how much must have been sold off over 40 days. So good that the house has been preserved and in some way the lack of furnishings allows you to admire tge rooms as art in themselves . The bridge stands out in its own right. Well we loved watching this over our breakfast what a treat. A fantastic commentary to go with it. A great presentation 👍. Hope you are both well and have a supurb day. Best wishes Dave and Dawn ❤️

@inbetween-days Hi Dave and Dawn! Good morning! The Marble Saloon blew us away... the scale doesn't even come close in the video... it is vast isn't it! I think the Dukes must've felt like Royalty living here and we wonder how many sheep they must've sold to build the house! We imagine there must be some fabulous ceilings in the old bedrooms too! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and spent quite some time just soaking up the atmosphere... so pleased you enjoyed the video! All good wishes sent your way for a lovely weekend, Neil and Ant 😊

I can't imagine what that house looked like before the sale of the interior. To have seen the marble saloon and the state dining room as they were. I would also have loved to see the inside of the gothic folly. THAT looked interesting. Another great video. I thank you sir.

@BusyBob6971 Hi! It was often referred to as a Palace so we imagine it must've been incredibly opulent, the empty rooms as we saw them are just fabulous... like architectural works of art. Wentworth Woodhouse is another fabulous house that currently stands empty of furniture, in parts it reminded us of it. The Marble Hall is breathtaking, it has an echo which took us by surprise! Thankyou so much for watching we really appreciate it... Best wishes from us both 😀

Thank-you so much. What an incredible place even without the original furnishings and accoutrements. It must have been just heartbreaking for the family to have been forced to sell the furniture and decor. The follies are absolutely delightful and that Palladian bridge is breathtaking. How did those Canada geese get there? You guys are the best !

@user-tx5pc3ib5x Hi Gabriele! The rooms are breathtaking but we guess when they were full of all the fabulous furniture and accessories they would have been out of this world! The story was so sad in the end how their son and heir died in the 1st world war... they lost their fabulous home, possessions, money but worst of all their son... The house still stands and the gardens still bloom as a memory of what they had... The bridge is incredibly romantic, it was easy to imagine people in period costume enjoying the same view we were enjoying! Thankyou so much for watching and commenting and so pleased you enjoyed it... Sending best wishes to you from us both 😀

The owners must have been idiots to blow such a huge fortune and lose their heritage. I’m going to do some more research on this. The estate is beautiful and romantic. Thanks guys!

@jamesallison4875 Hi James! Both the Dukes lived way beyond their means, they spent way more than they earned... it must've been such a huge blow to lose such a magnificent house and estate especially through stupidity! It's fortunate the school bought the place in the 1920s as it was on the verge of demolition, as happened to so many great houses at the time. We found the grounds to be magical they felt wonderful, over 250 acres! Thankyou for watching and we hope you're having a good weekend. Best wishes from us both 😀

I migliori auguri... Neil and Ant 😊
