The stonework is exceptional, apparently from the most ruined parts locally stone was used from the house in building projects up to the early 1900s so there's properties with some wonderful bits of stonework that were salvaged from the house! @Satu-zs7gm Hi! Thankyou so much for watching and commenting we really appreciate it... we found out it was last lived in at the end of the 1800s by a shepherd. He kept sheep in parts of the house... people would still travel to see Kirby at this time and they would eat picnics in the crumbling grand rooms... at that time there was still some furniture and tapestries etc but all were rotting away and rats ran throughout the house... a very sad end to what had been the greatest Elizabethan House in England... Best wishes to you 😊

They had just had all the stone floors cleaned prior to opening for the 2024 season they looked amazing... There's a lot of carved wood in the house and I'm pretty sure there's Grinling Gibbons work there so well spotted! The house is huge and visitors get to see only a small number of the rooms, we believe some of the private family rooms are equally stunning. So pleased you enjoyed taking a look around with us 😀 Hope you're having a great weekend and we send you our very best wishes 😊

According to Wikipedia, the interior of the house was renovated in the 1780's while preserving the exterior, and the Tudor wood paneling was removed in exchange for wallpaper and pediment. I tried to image how beautiful that paneling must have been.

I also loved how the lady of the Manor so warmly greeted you & shared so many details of her Home with you! That is so kind! Her Home is just wonderful! Then. there's the Gardens! Unbelievable! I have never seen any Gardens like these! Not only are they breathtakingly beautiful. but they are so dense & lush with every kind of flowers, plants, topiary, bushes & trees imaginable. Everywhere you look is just thick with every kind of foliage, plant & flower you could dream of. I love how they even planted foliage, flowers & bushes right up against the walls of the House itself. That is also just beautiful! If there is an Award for the most beautiful Gardens, which are 'chock full' of' loveliness, the Gardens here at Deene Park would win that Award...hands down. God definitely 'broke the mold' after He created the brilliant fellow who designed & planted these beautiful Gardens, Honestly! I would just love to live in a wee Cottage right in the middle of these Gardens & it would feel like a wee bit of Heaven. I would be no trouble & very quiet! With all of that beautiful thick foliage, they probably wouldn't even notice I was there anyway. LOL. Well, so much for being 'speechless!" LOL. Oh my! Thank-you for that very interesting tour. Very atmospheric. One gets a good sense of the construction with everything stripped away. Unimpeded views through the window openings over the magnificent landscape. Nice enfilade also. So very sad that something so magnificent has been allowed to deteriorate....

@user-tx5pc3ib5x Hi Gabriele... Thankyou so much for watching and for the great comment... it is very atmospheric, it felt very peaceful too... there are very few images of how it looked before it was stripped and the roof removed sadly so it's down to imagination and intuition... you can see the interior of 2 x rooms if you Google Philadelphia museum/ Sutton scarsdale as they bought 2 of the rooms interiors. Sending you our best wishes 😊

@jenniferevans6334 Hj Jennifer! Thanks... there's hardly any images from before it was dismantled internally so we can only imagine how it looked really but pretty sure it was very grand! Thanks for watching we appreciate it... all good wishes sent your way 😊
