Hilarious Mark. I thought it was going to be a load of waffle or crepe.

In the early 90s I was in the Army. I went to the NCO club with some friends one night and the Bon Jovi/Guns n Roses music playing really got under my skin. I put 5 bucks worth of quarters in the jukebox and played Barry Sadler's Ballad of the Green Berets like 15 times. Damn near cleared the club out!

My first WH experience was in the 90’s in Arlington, Texas near the big Guitar Center. 😂

Great story! Hilarious to try to imagine how awkward and tense the vibe got, progressively with each play of the song.

Been to the WH in Austin and the waffle was quite delicious. Don't remember seeing a jukebox or any green berets for that matter. ;0 great story Mark

Sounds like someone set you up! I once got thanked/yelled at for playing Sister Ray at a bar in Brooklyn. A lot of bang for a buck. Another time I played Miss X by MC5 and the bartender had to skip it because some guy became incredibly upset by it. It sounded like his friend had just died and it meant something. And once I saw a Ramones documentary with my friend and his co-worker that I didn't know. We went to a bar afterwards and the co-worker went straight for the juke and put on a bunch of Ramones songs. It felt weird.

Might have been a haunted jukebox since Barry Sadler did die in Tennessee. His story is wild ! You never know what is destined to happened ...

Extremely tempting...

We don't have Waffle House in Europe. Probably it's the main reason for our higher life expectancy compared to the US. I've heard some Waffle House stories from pro wrestlers in podcasts. It seems that Waffle House is the main choice for many pro wrestlers when they are on the road, along with Wendy's (another chain that doesn't exist in Europe).

Waffle House, Bob Evans, Cracker Barrel...there are a few regular and reliable places for the traveling artiste throughout the nation. It's much easier now to find the individually owned places than it used to be also due to internet access. Walking in the EU is a nicer experience than much of the USA, and also more practical, so that might mean better health on some level also.
