Recently went shopping for a new truck. Of course, Brought rods with me in my truck to make sure they fit in the new one. Salesman thought maybe i wanted a pickup truck. I told him im searcing for a big SUV with a big enough interior roof area to hang my rods.. Just like I have now. He said he had an "Adventurer" guy recently buy a full size work van to convert to a kayak fishing outfit. Now thats what im talking about! I need 4wd though so wouldnt work for me. The struggles of being a fisherman are real people. Thank God for Hack videos to help us all along

That certainly beats having them stand straight up in rod holders were branches or birds can hit them and break them. My pickup has a cap (lots of lockable space)which is great most of the time but not for carrying rods over 6’ long. I can lay up to 7’ rods diagonally in the bed though that has its own problems if you don’t have a level cargo upon which to lay them. It’s all about compromise.

Unfortunately for me I had mine in the bed like this three of the rods actually and I truly don’t know what happened but going from point A to B my rods were lost on the highway. Using this same setup. I’m guessing a hook came loose blew out caught something and off they went but yeah be careful
